We’re now entering the “down the stretch” portion of the season. On TNF the Washington Redskins are playing at the Minnesota Vikings (01:25 Fri – Sky Sports). Sunday sports 3 brilliant matchups; first up, two of the three teams tied for first in the NFC North – the Detroit Lions are at the Chicago Bears (18:00 Sun – Sky Sports). Sparks will fly when this season’s offensive juggernauts, the Denver Broncos, take on the San Diego Super Chargers, in this all AFC West matchup (21:25 Sun – Sky Sports). In the late game the Dallas Cowboys are hosted by the New Orleans Saints (01:30 Mon – C4) – the Saints will be a tough opponent after a bad loss to the Jets last week. Florida is currently the home of 3 of the NFL’s most disasterous franchises, and two play each other on MNF. The Miami Dolphins will hope to ignore their off-the-field issues and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look to get past their on-the-field issues (01:40 Tues – Eurosport).

At home in Florida languishing with the winless Bucs, Jacksonville/London Jaguars and the dysfunctional Miami Dolphins. This season has been a let down thus far. The only bright spot is the KC Chiefs, I always knew Alex Smith would be a good QB.

    Back to you Will

  • Will^10/11/2013 at 16:09

I feel sorry for the fans of any of Florida's NFL teams: The Jags are on a low ebb, the Buccs' HC has kicked his best QB out of town, and the Dolphins' issues are likely going to spill onto the field and ruin the rest of their 2013.

We'll finally see how good the Chiefs are when they come up against the Broncos and Chargers twice before season's close - up till this point they've had good luck with the opposing QBs that they have played. I'd like to see their offence take a team to pieces, then I'll be happy to pick them for a deep playoff run.

    Back to you Will

Agreed, NFL is highly distracting. But that's OK, I have no urgency to get this done. I have until after New Year.

it might be the commentary, it's more chilled so maybe i look at the screen less? either that or perhaps it's less stop/start. i should try coding to various sports and see what yields the best results. tennis is really good too.

  • Noelinho10/11/2013 at 18:18

Oakland missed a wide open player on 3rd down. Would have been a certain TD. Instead, punt blocked, returned for a TD!

Good drive for Detroit. Stafford is my wild card so that drive got me 6 points

  • Noelinho10/11/2013 at 18:20

So, I've ended up watching Oakland - New York, on account of it being all-action when I turned on. Was going to watch Seattle, but I'm quite happy with this, think I'll just keep it on.

Yup, I've been hearing that this evening. The Steelers might be looking to reorganise - he has a rather large cap number and there might not be enough money left to build a younger team.

AZ are favourites, as Bruce Arians is now the HC there (he was at one point Big Ben's OC at Pittsburgh)

    Luck was intercepted again!

You can tell how bad the Colts are by the Rams' QB's stats.

    6 completions on 11 attempts

  • Noelinho10/11/2013 at 19:59

    hehe!

I was sat trying to do stuff yesterday on my wife's laptop using XAMPP, and I couldn't be bothered to translate my server rules back to Apache, so I figured I could just find a portable Nginx server. Got it working quicker than I expected.

very, very late flag on a hold in the endzone. So late, no -one actually saw one at all. Announced about 20 seconds after the end of the play

Lions drop a pass in the end zone

  • Noelinho10/11/2013 at 20:38

If the Lions get a TD, surely they go for two?

If the Lions get a TD, surely they go for two?

Yes, I'd think they would have chosen that option, if available

Bears QB #12 is twice as good as Bears QB #6.

  • Steven Roy10/11/2013 at 20:54

That is an increidbly stupid penalty. Throwing the passer to the ground after the play

  • Will^10/11/2013 at 20:56

Jags recover a turnover for another TD, and an even bigger lead.

  • Noelinho10/11/2013 at 20:56

...Should be a steal fir whoever picks him as he 4th QB

  • Steven Roy10/11/2013 at 22:47

Unbelievable by Peyton. A little over a minute left in the half and he has to go most of the length of the field with only one time out. He gets the TD with 13 seconds left and still has the time out

I haven't watched much college football untill recently but he looks like he will either be a total legend or a total disaster in the pros. I can't imagine anyone picking another QB before him. Better to pick him and him to turn out to be a disaster to miss out on a record breaking QB
