We’re now entering the “down the stretch” portion of the season. On TNF the Washington Redskins are playing at the Minnesota Vikings (01:25 Fri – Sky Sports). Sunday sports 3 brilliant matchups; first up, two of the three teams tied for first in the NFC North – the Detroit Lions are at the Chicago Bears (18:00 Sun – Sky Sports). Sparks will fly when this season’s offensive juggernauts, the Denver Broncos, take on the San Diego Super Chargers, in this all AFC West matchup (21:25 Sun – Sky Sports). In the late game the Dallas Cowboys are hosted by the New Orleans Saints (01:30 Mon – C4) – the Saints will be a tough opponent after a bad loss to the Jets last week. Florida is currently the home of 3 of the NFL’s most disasterous franchises, and two play each other on MNF. The Miami Dolphins will hope to ignore their off-the-field issues and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will look to get past their on-the-field issues (01:40 Tues – Eurosport).
NFL Week 10
Published by Will Davies on
At home in Florida languishing with the winless Bucs, Jacksonville/London Jaguars and the dysfunctional Miami Dolphins. This season has been a let down thus far. The only bright spot is the KC Chiefs, I always knew Alex Smith would be a good QB.
Back to you Will
I feel sorry for the fans of any of Florida's NFL teams: The Jags are on a low ebb, the Buccs' HC has kicked his best QB out of town, and the Dolphins' issues are likely going to spill onto the field and ruin the rest of their 2013.
We'll finally see how good the Chiefs are when they come up against the Broncos and Chargers twice before season's close - up till this point they've had good luck with the opposing QBs that they have played. I'd like to see their offence take a team to pieces, then I'll be happy to pick them for a deep playoff run.
Do join us at gametime :)
Whoop, gametime! Lions@Bears & RedZone for me.
TD Bears
hey y'all. no sky for us this week, might try and catch the late game tho.
Go Brandon Marshall
Late game is Dallas Cowboys at New Orleans Saints
them again. righto :)
I've just switched Gamepass on and the Giants are losing to Oakland already.
I'm here for the early and maybe half of the middle game, though I'm trying to work on a few web things too.
muffed the ko
Woah, Jacksonville leading too.
And they've got the ball again, less than two minutes gone.
the late game, yup, will defos be asleep then
#semiaffinity
Not having a successful time with it so far today, though I am also trying out Brackets, so as much playing around as making stuff right now.
best way to learn. although i find baseball a bit less distracting than nfl for coding purposes :)
I wonder why that is. Curious
Agreed, NFL is highly distracting. But that's OK, I have no urgency to get this done. I have until after New Year.
@ChrisLaw 1m
The Jaguars are leading, I repeat... The Jaguars are leading. Do Not adjust your TV Sets.
it might be the commentary, it's more chilled so maybe i look at the screen less? either that or perhaps it's less stop/start. i should try coding to various sports and see what yields the best results. tennis is really good too.
Has to be golf
Cricket would work well for me. Plenty of stops, you know exactly when to look.
But why turn that on in the first place?
Snoozer?
Seattle lead in Atlanta. 3-0.
Oakland missed a wide open player on 3rd down. Would have been a certain TD. Instead, punt blocked, returned for a TD!
:)
does poker count as a sport, that's even more chilled.
So you can concentrate on the coding
Poker is too interesting. You have to really watch to know what is going on
i get too interested in poker = more distracting.
Good drive for Detroit. Stafford is my wild card so that drive got me 6 points
So, I've ended up watching Oakland - New York, on account of it being all-action when I turned on. Was going to watch Seattle, but I'm quite happy with this, think I'll just keep it on.
Buffalo 3-0 Pittsburgh.
Only Eagles - Pakcers yet to see a score.
*Packers
FG was missed?
Cutler sacked by a bunch of Lions but one of them got his facemask
Are you asking? I haven't got it on, but it's scoreless on my scoreboard.
A huge handful, followed by a slap around the ears
i saw them lining one up, so they missed have missed it
Jacksonville in the redzone.
Jaguars lead 10-0. FG nearly blocked.
TD Eagles
Yep, my coding isn't going anywhere!
these games!
funny thing is, when I sit down to watch a game with nothing else to concentrate on, I fall asleep. I can't single task.
Packers' backup QB is out...
Same. I do that all the time now. #blamesidepodcast
Wallace? Where is he?
Re Packers' QBs
@NFL_ATL 20s
Wallace has a groin injury. Questionable to return.
There is golf on Sky Sports 4
Giants fumble, Oakland have it.
On the Giants' 22.
He just dropped it. Oh, that's a bad one.
Lions almost screwed up the punt but got it away in the end
Packers look like they are for the taking
Baltimore 10-0 up vs Bengals
Pierre-Paul down to the locker room on Giants' D.
Clay Matthews' right hand: https://twitter.com/ekaycbs/status/399596798584438784/photo/1
Has he been taking his Kasabian listening far too literally?
Bears and Lions getting a little bit aggressive with each other after the play stopped
Apt.
This shoot-out might turn into all-out war in Soldier Field.
When the Romans put bears and lions in to fight each other the bear won every single time.
Bear going for it on 4th and 1
Bears go for it on 4th
FAIL
It worked for them on their winning drive last week...
Crazy doing it at 7-7 with 11 minutes left in the 2nd quarter
Big Ben taking hits, his OLine is porous.
Given them reasonable field position, esp when it's Stafford and Megatron throwing and catching it.
Rumour has it, he's looking to move somewhere else after this season
Colts down by 14 now.
Yup, I've been hearing that this evening. The Steelers might be looking to reorganise - he has a rather large cap number and there might not be enough money left to build a younger team.
AZ are favourites, as Bruce Arians is now the HC there (he was at one point Big Ben's OC at Pittsburgh)
Lions now have 4th and 1. Went for the 4th and 1 and failed.
Jacksonville 13-0 up now!
Matt Ryan having another slow day so far. #Falcons
He's getting ready for the play-offs early this year.
Do you mean foot off gas + balls off target type of play?
@richeisen:
Tavon Austin with an incredibly daring and monstrous 98-yard punt return. 21-0 Rams in Indy. Wow.
yep
Green Bay in the redzone
Dan (in the sidepodFL) will not be pleased one bit by their season to date.
Didn't see that coming.
Giants TD, helped by a strong run from Brown leading up to it. They lead 14-10. I'll enjoy this minute while it lasts.
Ah, just turned away from that and to Green Bay.
GB picked off in the RedZone
what are you watching on?
I'm flipping between those 2 games, too.
just saw it. Quite a return.
I'm watching DET-CHI and the RedZone Channel in parallel.
Eagles miss a FG
Waste of the INT.
switching to Jacksonville.
Jake Locker's gone to his room.
Seattle now down 21-0 to the Rams.
Flagrant facemask on by GB not called, I think it was on the play prior to the missed attempt.
Colts, not Seattle ;-)
The Locker Room?
Yup - that's who I meant.
:)
that's the one :-) Ryan Fitzpatrick in.
Bears 2nd and goal on the 4 yard line
Run Forte!!
No a pick!
Beatted up in the air and intercepted
Didn't the Colts come back from 21 down to win last week? And wasn't that a franchise record? Or did I imagine that?
One team came back from something like that but I can't remember who
Andrew Luck holds the record for # comebacks over the last season and a hlad... now 28-0.
Maybe I should watch that game because this will be the greatest comeback ever
Don't think he'll improve it today. 57 yard TD pass from Clemens - NFL career best.
Or, most embarrassing loss.
Colts will have to start on the 13. Not going great.
Just saw Tavon Austin's return. I think they must have Devin Hester in his uniform
Rams' pass rush is a beast right now.
Colts' punt nearly blocked. They were asking for a roughing penalty, but instead got done for holding. One of those days.
LOL, Eli #Pick6
Just Eli's 532nd this season.
Cannot believe how bad the Giants have been this season
Clay Matthews called for roughing the passer, head and neck area.
commentators not so sure, but it was called and that's that.
That's a shock. Did he use this https://twitter.com/ekaycbs/status/399596798584438784/photo/1
No, but he looks like a rock 'em sock 'em robot. (kids game here)
I can see the similarity
http://www.theoldrobots.com/images61/RockemSockemRobots9.JPG
TD Lions.
Mike Pereira says the roughing the passer call was spot on.
Nice pic. :)
Took a lot of effort to find it. Ok it was first on the Bing picture search
:D
Great catch in the last second of the first half by Tate to give Seattle a 23-3 lead
Only teams not to score so far ar the Bengals and the Colts
New Packers logo highlighting all the injuries. http://t.co/qYtBAtfPzR
Cutler hits Marshall for 44 yards and almost all of it before the catch
That should let them hang around in offside areas at least
that's funny
Tavon Austin is destroying the Colts, now with 3TDs.
LOL, Luck picked off in the endzone
The Rams aren't even celebrating any more.
Jay Culter gets caught and now is a little limpy.
Jacksonville now leading by 13 again.
First indication of the comeback
Bears get a field goal to trail 14-10
It seems that punting teams this weekend are stopping returns before the 20 yard line Except the Colts obviously
Halftime was good. Managed to get Nginx set up to work on Windows.
hehe!
Luck was intercepted again!
I just saw a photo of the pit fire at the WEC race. I had no idea that had even happened. Looks scary.
http://t.co/cM0Lj5zZBF
#slightlyofftopic
that man is on fire!
:)
You can tell how bad the Colts are by the Rams' QB's stats.
6 completions on 11 attempts
I was sat trying to do stuff yesterday on my wife's laptop using XAMPP, and I couldn't be bothered to translate my server rules back to Apache, so I figured I could just find a portable Nginx server. Got it working quicker than I expected.
So was the photographer to get that shot
holy crap. I stayed up and watched as much as I could before I fell asleep. I didn't know that happened either.
Rams 38-0.
See. Only a field goal that time. The comeback is on the way
I have to go out so I'll miss the rest of today's games. :(
See you guys later.
Have fun even if you are deserting us. Stay safe
Till next Sunday, where F1 clashes with the early kos.
Riley Cooper sounds like a car to me but he just got another TD for the Eagles
End of the 3rd and the Lions lead by 4 in Chicago
Bengals got a filed goal that I missed so only the Colts left to score
Colts' TD
comeback ison
I knew it had to come
2PC good too
Giants draw level with a TD with the PAT still to come
PAT was good
Rams now can't beat their franchise record road shutout, which was 48-0 as the LA Rams against the Baltimore Colts.
Sky and Fox commentators saying the Bears should take Cutler out of the game
what's wrong?
Bears running TD ruled out for holding
Injured.
http://t.co/J6q4NxV1N5
Michael Carlson @Carlsonsports 19m
when did the nfl memo go out saying any and all hits on jay cutler are automatically legal?
Didn't realise the NFL are interested in SNP press releases ;-)
OOPS
https://twitter.com/Carlsonsports/status/399628353201647616
Bears TD ruled out due to losing control on the way to the ground. Field goal scored so they trail by 1
JAGUARS GET A SAFETY!
they lead 22-13.
But the Jags' D is terrible... and the Titans are supposed to be playoff contenters in the AFC...!!!
very, very late flag on a hold in the endzone. So late, no -one actually saw one at all. Announced about 20 seconds after the end of the play
Lions drop a pass in the end zone
Then miss the FG
If the Lions get a TD, surely they go for two?
Lions miss subsequent FG
Or it's irrelevant...
Yes, I'd think they would have chosen that option, if available
Lions TD... 2PTer?
TD Lions
Has to be
Nope. Strange. That would've been a 2 score game.
Guess they settled for forcing the Bears to go for 2 to tie
McCown in
That still carries decent odds onthe Lions' part.
Bears QB #12 is twice as good as Bears QB #6.
That is an increidbly stupid penalty. Throwing the passer to the ground after the play
Jags recover a turnover for another TD, and an even bigger lead.
Oh wow. Titans were within two, pick 6. Jags have it sown up now, surely.
Oh, it was a fumble. I was too busy talking.
I backed out of callin git a fumble or an INt as I wasn't sure which it was.
Bears go play action on 4th down, and they pull it off.
I just wasn't looking. saw the speed it got to the endzone, assumed it was like Manning's pick 6 earlier.
TD Bears
Brandon Marshall is a BEAST!
Giants won.
Rams won 38-8.
Bears bottle the 2PT... but there's a flag
Think it's time to go side-by-side
Bears failed to get the 2pc.
Flag on the play
Half the distance to the goal
Forte time!
Forte barely got one step
Still :40 on the clock...
Bears only have one time out
2PCs not his Forte.
BOOM BOOM
Seattle beat Atlanta
Onside Kick did not work
Lions win 21-19
Loved that they iced the kicker before his first shot
Yeah, does help if you make sure it goes 10 yards
San Fran open with the ball against Carolina
That seems to go wrong more than it works
Next game on Sky is Broncos at the Chargers
I'd love to be able to watch it all - we'll see how far I get
Kaepernick should have been picked off.
Titans TD
Pittsburgh beat Buffalo
Jacksonville win.
Eagles in victory formation vs Green Bay
SF 53-yard GF is GOOD
*Field Goal, not girlfriend. That would be inhumane
TOUCHDOWN BENGALS!
In Fergie time!
You should see how it happened too. James Ihedigbo will be hiding from Harbaugh.
Gifted it to AJ Green
Instead of catching it or batting it away he tipped it up for a gimme catch by AJ Green
Bengals receive.
Game started in San Diego. Chargers have the ball
Chargers go 3 and out
Should have done better. They were on 3rd and one and a half
Lined up for a punt but went for it on 4th and 1. 1st down
Broncos rush defence needs some work. Lost 39 yards on one play but a flag on the play brought it back
Bengals went for it on 4th down on the 32, lost 10 yards.
It's Peyton time
Field position fail
TD Broncos
Broncos TD
7-0 Broncos
Officials reviewing the TD
in the nfluk pickems i have rivers and manning tonight
I have Manning, Welker, Moreno
JThomas already has >13 fantasy points
Peyton has 7 but he was only on the field for about a minute and only threw two passes
Chargers pulled back again because of a flag on the play. That is about 70 yards of offence they have given away
That looks to be what is going to hold them back tonight.
Ravens win.
Andre Johnson is being a catch-machine against the Cards = 7yard TD.
Rivers galloping his way up towards the first.
Chargers FB leaps the line for the 1st down.
FG Chargers. 7-3 Denver
Peyton sacked on 3rd down
Field goal SD. 7-6
How can Johnny Manziel only be the third or fourth QB drafted? He won the Heisman in his freshman season and has been destroying teams this season again. He could play college football for another 2 seasons
Fabulous TD by Demaryius Thomas. Passed the ball from his left hand to his right in mid air to claer the pylon as he flew out of bounds
SD missed a FG
Something to do with not being tested in a pro system, but he just seems to be a mix of a mobile QB, and Big Ben's escapablity
...Should be a steal fir whoever picks him as he 4th QB
Unbelievable by Peyton. A little over a minute left in the half and he has to go most of the length of the field with only one time out. He gets the TD with 13 seconds left and still has the time out
I haven't watched much college football untill recently but he looks like he will either be a total legend or a total disaster in the pros. I can't imagine anyone picking another QB before him. Better to pick him and him to turn out to be a disaster to miss out on a record breaking QB
Went 72 yards in 1:25 completing 7/8
Denver scoring TDs / San Diego scoring FGs, occasionally.
Peyton nearly picked off. Should have been
Straight down the middle. It went straight down the middle
TD Denver
Denver looked like they were going to be held to a low score for most of the first half and now they have scored 27 points
Locker looks like he is out for the season
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000279549/article/report-jake-locker-foot-could-be-done-for-season?campaign=Twitter_atl
Chargers recover a fumble
TD Chargers. Drive started on the Denver 7
28-13
Looks like TD Chargers
28-20
Broncos win 28-20.
As a result they only tie the record for consecutive games scoring over 30 points.
Cowboys just kicked off in New Orleans
