Hello everyone and welcome to Sunday. Sit down, put your feet up and have a cupcake. Or maybe just take a moment or two to rest, curl up and have a bit of a nap? Go on, you deserve it, we all know it’s been a busy week..
While you’re putting your feet up on the sofa, why don’t you catch up with all the latest goings on here at the lovely Sidepodcast. Yesterday we live commented Qualifying, complete with fbfb and some funky night time graphics! You can catch up with FP3
and Qualifying results on Sidepodcast too! Not forgetting a recap of the post qualifying press conference! Thank you Christine for all the hard work you do for us!
Mr C has also created a wonderful post on f1 people who have embraced the world of google plus.
And before I forget, you really must check out the wonderful daily Stuart Taylor wrote for us yesterday which features a brilliant and different ‘how business is done in f1’ section. It’s a must read!
Moving on to some random links for you all then, hold on to your telescopes it’s a space special today.
• I’ve mentioned in the comments before how obsessed I am with the aurora borealis but upon reading about this hotel I’ve got my heart set on staying there once in my life. What an amazing idea!
• Don’t you just love looking at the sky? It’s so beautiful.
• Flying over the Earth must be such an amazing sight. Good job people take videos otherwise most of us would never get to see it! Wow!
One last little, non space, link for you. It’s cute, and it’s arty – happy drawing!
Enjoy the racing today, goodness Singapore is beautiful . I’m jealous of every single person there/who has been there.
This is fantastic! Or as Murray would say: FAAAAANTAAAAASTIC!!!

I'm obsessed too and I haven't seen them yet in person. We need to go to Finland. The list of reasons why just keeps growing.
We have to go and see a rally, use their best internet, watch the aurora borealis in the glass igloo hotel, and see if I can find out where my grandmother was from.
How well do you know your Formula 1 history?
The book That'll be the Day: 365 F1 Stories takes a look at significant moments or quirky happenings on this day in Grand Prix history. Can you guess what event the following describes?
i know! it's a cute bit of fun :)
sidepodtrip! :)
race day! We are nomming on Carrefour jaffa cakes while we wait for the drivers parade. That's not very Asian.
Good plan
Surely jaffa cakes are a global thing
Lou/others: This Aussie motorsport photographer appears to be doing his first GP this weekend, worth a read - http://www.speedshots.com.au/blog/
on Twitter at @Nathan_Wong
Found out via @SHagers.
the only place i see them in Australia is aldi
Imagine that chat with martin & christian happening between 2 managers after a football match
Cant think of many other sports where it would happen
Time to read 1200 comments in the race thread. Epic!
Oh, and I was looking for covers of Downtown, I found this. Solid gold!

Did you enjoy your day?
Thats 1200 comments, right here on the BBC

Wow, GP+ is mega quick this week
it was ok, security a lot more over zealous than previous years for no reason which sucked some fun out of it. Fireworks were pretty though :D
And I saw sutil this morning so that makes 3 drivers I've spotted in the hotel :)
Enjoy a little something from the Sidepodcast back catalogue.

OTT security is never good
I'll definitely be back next year :)
Can save some money on this awesome hotel by arriving friday not thursday and I definitely won't get these $1k grandstand seats again. Not worth it when there's a GA platform right next to it, and the GA areas didn't seem to involve queuing from dawn like at other races. Turn up just before the drivers parade and you'll get an ok spot.
That's an expensive Grandstand!
waste of money on such a flat track
Hiiiiii :)
I'm in my new house :)
Cool, how is it?
Is that AU $ or Singapore $?
Hi folks, new team stuff: http://northernwaffler.wordpress.com/2011/09/25/new-leader-after-singapore/
Moved to the deep south already?
Greetings everyone. Almost ready to publish my Film Review for Day of the Jackal, but I have to know if Mr. C(hacal) was used as a technical advisor... :p
Mr. C as a hitman? Interesting
Not quite that Chacal means "Jackal" in Spanish or French and starts with the letter "C" or anything like that..... Plus I head that Spinal Tap is missing another drummer (again) lately....
Yeah! Just updated The Film Listing on My blog site.

Sadly, mostly war films at teh moment but a couple of political thrillers to come...
Seems convincing enough
I had no idea there was a film called Passchendaele. Must dig that out.
checking out at the same time as most of lotus, their travel kit is the rugby jersey in their shop. I like it. Also Paul and his girlfriend have just come back from what appears to have been a big night out :D
Well, we do know he doesn't like his picture being taken...
So if you turn up with the rugby shirt you can fly with the team
And he killed Ringo like it was nothing to him
I'm guessing you'll lap them all on the way to the airport :)
i get the impression the amber lounge must have just closed as in the very short walk to the train station we also saw Buemi, Senna and a hilariously drunk Alonso all coming from that direction
Fantastic. :)
I don't think I've seen the original version, other than a few clips. The Bruce Willis version is very different but I do like it.
They remade it with Bruce Willis??? That sounds horrible
The original is a great film but very dated now. Doesn't have the impact it used to have but that may just be because I have seen it a few times
It sounds horrible but it isn't as bad as it could've been, he isn't swaggering around all gung ho. It isn't too cerebral either though.
I love the thought of Bruce Willis being cerebral. Closest he got was Moonlighting but that just ended up being very weird
Are you going to watch the Colts-Steelers game later? I'm not working tomorrow and I've not seen any NFL yet this season so I might see the first couple of quarters.
He does fire a rotary gun at Jack Black, to be honest its worth watching for that alone
I thinK I saw it when it came out. I think I only remember the ending. Maybe.
Yes. I fell asleep at half time last week and will probably do the same this week regardless of intentions. The Colts have relied on their quarterback Peyton Manning to get results for years and he has a neck injury so it will be intersting to see what they are like without him. He calls most of his own plays unlike any other QB in the NFL so it will ruin their rythm for the coaches to send in plays and to have a QB who can't read the defence and change the play after they are set
I was just trying to remember the ending, I remember lots about it apart from the end. I suppose I should watch it again then. :) And the original.
I am going to disappear for 45 minutes but I will be back before the 1:20 kick off
Was there a subway chase of some sort at or near the end?
Aha yes there was, that's it.
Interesting then
I think the reason I remember that is because the subway was supposed to be in RIchmond (VA), at least in the movie.
There is no subway in Richmond IRL. That always annoyed me.
Yeah. Paul Gross is a Canadian Actor that funded most of the project. it covers the really infamous part of Passchendale when the Candian Corps entered the line in mid-October until early Novembe. It is based on Paul's Grandfather who served there. You may or may not have to go though the foreign films section to find it although.
Hilariously drunk? You must tell us more. :D
Ah right, a bit of artistic licence. I've never understood things like that when they go to lengths to make the rest mostly believable.
I hear he look like Edmund Fox with an ING cap on his head.... :p
Yes, Pat. I got back from Providence, Rhode Island earlier, watched the race, read the comments, and I'll watch the game. I hope you're going to watch, too.
As much as I can, the games are a bit long though
Yes, and it's very late for you guys.
Yep. If I had Sky I'd watch an earlier game instead.
I went to WaterFire in Providence, Rhode Island last night and I took some pictures.

Nice
Thanks. I wish it wasn't so hot and muggy. There's another one in 2 weeks that I may go to again if it's cooler, but I don't know yet.
Regular thing then? Seem to be a fair few people there
yeah, it runs from May through October every 2 weeks.
Looks fabulous
Looks more like a winter thing
It really is. The last 2 times I went I was in a relationship. Each one broke up shortly after that, even though we had a really good time there. So this time I just went on my own. I guess I'll be breaking up with myself soon.
I guess they go as far into fall as they can. Once the snow falls people can't walk around very well.
