Here we go then, the day is finally upon us and it is all about Sidepodradio. Doesn't matter if there is any F1 news going on, we've got a whole host of shows to keep you occupied. I imagine the majority of today's conversation will be in the upcoming threads, but for now, here's what we're talking about:
- If you want to get yours ears wrapped around something before the mammoth 12 hours begins, we've posted an Interviews with Bloggers Sidepodchat special with Scott Woodwiss. Consider it a teaser for the upcoming show.
- There are many questions floating about regarding replays of the Sidepodradio extravaganza and whether there will be podcasts of the event. The short answer is: we don't know. Nothing will be lost if we can possibly help it. There will be replays of the video, and we hope to extract as much as we can - but whether it will appear on podcast feeds or not is another matter. Bear with us, it will all become clear in time.
- Don't forget, and you'll hear it a lot today, that we're doing this to raise money for charity. Plenty of kind people have already donated, and our production costs are pretty much covered. The excess will go to an as yet undecided charity, so if you're feeling generous, click the button on the right hand side of the homepage.
That'll do it for now. Hope to see you in the comments throughout the day, enjoy it all, whether you are a host or a listener, and we'll see you on the other side!
Hello Sunday
The countdown begins
Hello new Daily.
The big day arrives!!
Good luck, everyone. Break some legs. ;)
Best get planning the next one *runs*
I know, no F1 stuff today :D but Alonso has been summoned by the World Council ;) http://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2009/09/fia-summons-alonso-to-appear-before-the-world-council/
No suprise there
I do hope he's innocent otherwise he's out
Time for sleep! See you guys for the awesomeness later today :)
Allen belives he's being summoned to get more dirt on Flav. The stewards were happy that he didn't know anything.
night
See ya Lukeh
He better be!! I really really hope, for the sake of the whole sport, nothing comes of this with regard to Alonso.
Night Lukeh
Seems about right
Max has told them the outcome he wants
They should make a rule that all testimony to the WMSC will be given while hooked up to a lie detector.
And broadcast on a time delay
There are ways around lie detectors ;)
Ok, notes are complete. I have no idea how long each sketch will take so I have prepared quite a few. Hopefully we won't run out! :D
SPCR ==> not the motto of the city of Rome (that would be SPQR ==> Sen?tus Populusque R?m?nus) but the call letters of a new radio station Sidepodcast Radio, which hopefully not join its comedic sister stations WKRP in Cincinnati or SCTV in Edmonton/Toronto.... :P
Break a leg folks, only 11 hours, 24 minutes to go...
that is scary! I really hope it goes well. I will try to get to a pc when I can!
Guinness supply exhausted... time for JD & Pepsi :-)
Stayed sober today
Have to contribute to 3 shows tomorrow
Don't need the hangover
Good night all - see you in less than 12 hours...
Night
I'm jealous.... :(
Night Gavin
That's why they made morning. Sleep 'til 11.20, like I did today..
Night Gavin, we'll give you a ring tomorrow so you can come on our show if that's still opkay?
Someone needs to
That'll be it until Thursday for me
Did I mention it was Arthur's Day?
Yes - that goes for all of you, I will be listening and in the comments, so just call on Skype ;)
All day hangovers come with age
I'm not sure I can go from 0 - 100 like that :-)
Though I was fine today
Drank lots of fluids before hitting the sack
[sorry Amy]
I'm on earlies next week. Very rarely touch it then
Firiday I'm off :D :) :D
oh I've had some of those anyway :-)
Worst ones are two day hangovers [well. a day and a half]
Or those that persist even when you start drinking again. Ouch!
I always forget about how nasty a hangover is until it's too late.... Somehow that's never at the front of my mind as I'm drinking!
I am trying to learn about hydration whilst on the booze. My friend does it and it really helps in the morning
Normally, I'm all "pint please"
Alison
Do you have any preferences for Spa tickets?
#Spa
That helps a lot. A pint of squash before bed, another nearby when you sleep, another in the morning.
Not sure why that's sorry Amy?
I tried to stay up for the Lewis & Heikki appearance in London this afternoon
I failed about 6am
Ahh ok. I've started buying 330ml bottles instead of 500ml cans, that's my effort at cutting back... one bottle of an evening after work..
Dunno if I've had one..
I've done that! It doesn't help.
I don't really get "one bottle"
Would rather not
Ah well staying up is a whole other thing
Really not particularly. I'm not fussed about whether it's covered or not even, I'm well used to the wet!
And I rarely keep booze in the house
It doesn't last
Just enough to help relax, not enough to make you drowsy and sluggish in the morning.
Grandstand tickets are 2 to 3x the price of general admission
Some folk want to do Grandstand at Eau Rouge
Others will be roaming and plonking down anywhere
I was thinking about this. I mean.. Finances would prefer GA.. but F1 fan would prefer grandstand.. :-)
I agree with Amy on this
It's probably a once in a lifetime trip for me
I want it to be special
Eau Rouge stand highlighted
http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/eau-rouge-jpg
Hmmm I'd probably rather get proper seats for the race, I'm not fussed at other points in the weekend. I don't mind paying extra for a grandstand. Can you see a giant screen from there?
Agreed. I have no idea if there will even be a Grand Prix there again afterwards, it is one of those perennially under threat.
Yup
From the official GP website:
Eau Rouge 3 (covered) and Stand 4 (not) - look at the pics
If I was doing this (finances may come into the equation!), I'd want to be in view of the pit exit, though given the track layout I believe it would be possible to have the pit exit at one end of my vision and Eau Rouge at the other.
Looks like it's reserved seating too
We may have to book in small chunks
Not that we'd be able to talk to anyone
If that's what the view is like, I'd probably rather go uncovered.
Ah man!
That's the difference between Gold 3 & 4 then
I need to change the link on the wiki
Me too
The filmers can go covered
I wanna be near the action
What if you hired a Kangaroo set with the commentary? Sitting at Eau Rouge is just out of range of pit exit.
We would in the hour pre-race, and when cars are on the other side of the circuit. I'd rather our lot sat as near to each other as possible.
Amy came to the same conclusion I believe, and I agree
100% agreed. I don't care about a bit of flying water, I come from Britain FFS!
Pat, if it's one ticket you need
I could pick it up with Amy's, if you like
Not sure what the limit is
helllooooo.....
Hey LPG
Please do, if you can manage it. Thanks!
You'll have to let me know your bank details so I can tfr the value over ASAP after it leaves you.
Hey
(or before)
I'll likely use cc but will give you a heads up
Will prob book this week
I'm just going to sit and seethe (nicely) with jealousy about Spa...
:-)
When are you planning on buying? In the next day or two or longer than that?
This site has an FAQ.
"Are the seats numbered ?"
"Yes, in the tribunes (Gold and Silver tickets)."
You should come!
okies
Let's say, not before Wednesday.
How's that?
It does make for rather an expensive family weekend, I guess
We'll miss your brownies though LPG ;)
Okay so if I check Jack will come with me, I'll happily get my own tickets. I don't want to sit by myself if he won't commit to coming though!
Sounds fair
On the pages I linked it says
"When you order, you can indicate the block you prefer in the grandstand. We will comply in so far as possible, in accordance with the number of seats available and in order of the date of payment."
and it provides blocks A-F in the diagram. I think all those who want to sit together should book near the same time and specify the same letter. F1 fans are a friendly bunch, if we are positions a little way apart we may be able to negotiate a swap..
Updating links on the wiki to the officail site with seating/ticket options
Hello all
yup! Although maybe the rest of them could stay home...
Nah, that would never fly, I'd be lynched if I went to a GP without the children......
Are the spa tickets cheaper on the official site?
Hey Joe. You coming to Spa?
Joe!
Hey fella
:D
Yup
http://www.spagrandprix.com/
Why in the heck is it cheaper to get a weekend grandstand ticket than a Sunday one??
I would like to, I will already be going to Montreal, but if you are booking tickets and such, it might be too early for me
"The « Mobility Solution » is a package who will give you access to the circuit on the Sunday 22nd of August 2009 to see the Belgian Grand Prix without parking, stress of the travel and trafic problem."
ooh. wonder what this means.
I honestly do not know wheather to say "Christine, Mr. C 10 hours, 44 minutes to Curtain!" or "Christine, Mc C. 10 Hours, 44 minutes to Curtains!" :P .
Mobility should be for disabled access
So they aren't left with odd seats unsold on a Saturday.
Are you counting in SidepodTime
I make it ...and 35mins ;)
What if you hired a Kangaroo set with the commentary? Sitting at Eau Rouge is just out of range of pit exit. {Comment #63}
I've had one disaster with Kangaroo units before. I am never repeating that experiment.
I am barely on the web. Will have a look when I get home!
Early bird promo
Are tickets on sale already?
Where are you trying to find the tickets to Montreal, Joe. I think the old promoter gave up ands went out of business - hence the whole thing disappeared last year...
I'm not sure that's true because I saw a separate section for disabled people, there is a car park right behind one of the stands and they have a platform in front of Silver 2 which I think is opposite the GP2 pit.
But you could just not turn up.... It doesn't make ANY sense!
Oh that's a shame, I've heard nothing but good about them so far, I've yet to try one though.
When I do buy, there'll be a website and I'll buy from there, I think CanadianGP.com. Still plenty of time
formula1blog is tweeting that they've interviewed Vatanen
Yup
I was thinking that maybe I should stick a crowbar in my wallet and buy one, thus forcing me out of my comfort zone and into the fun zone
Do it
Amy's coming from Australia
I think we need to find out where other people who aren't here want to sit. Even if they want a different stand it would be cool to be in a nearby one.
If I recall, she wanted us to camp
There is some appeal to me of being near the chicane! I like chicanes.... Would I be able to wander round and watch practice near there?
I don't think so :)
Amy: Would rather die than camp
http://wiki.sidepodcast.com/page/Spa+Grand+Prix+2010
Good question. At Indy, Fri and Sat is all general admission and you ticket seats only applied on Sunday. I like to walk around and get different views,
If I go this year, I would love to be in one of the Silver Grandstands on either side of the Casino Hairpin. Have you ever been there or Silver Grandstand section 12, on the right hand side so there's a clear line of sight down the pit lane... (Or so it looks like, I think you are clear of the tree there.)
I only have been to the Silver Grandstands 15 (Bottom of the hairpin) and Silver 11 (Pit lane exit) Section 11 was not as great as I thought it would be. (VIP tents block line of site into pit lane)
Nope, pretty sure she's dead set against it...
Mind you, camping is vaguely sensibly priced...
I plan to use Friday to explore. I expect we'll be more split up that day than any other.
2007 in front of Kimi's garage area. 2008 Pit exit with pit lane blocked by VIP tents. 2010 will be in the hairpin area or one of the chicanes leading up to it. It's a shorter walk to the Budweiser Beergarden
Circuit Map
http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/spa-map-pdf
hehehehe Amy, camping.
:D
Map!
Amy, Bassano, myself, Alison? and maybe more want to be in Red 4.
I think Mr+MrsC are looking at Yellow 3.
Brown indicates GA areas and I'm hoping to do a circuit perimiter walk on Friday. I may be some time.
#Spa
How is she going to afford a trip all the way round Europe without a bit of slumming it.....
They aren't fussed as long as it's covered
I can't find a GA ticket for Friday only
She'll slum it elsewhere but not at the circuit
Good girl!
Credit? Picking up some rich racing driver?
What about transport to and from the track and how close are the hotels
Wrong way around! Nothing wrong with perching on a grass bank at a race meeting.. as long as it isn't raining... though maybe that's more suited to touring car
Mobility Solution
The "Mobility Solution" is a package who will give you access to the circuit on the Sunday 30th of August 2009 to see the ING Belgian Grand Prix without parking, stress of the travel and trafic problem.
http://www.spagrandprix.com/en/pages/tribune-bronze.aspx
So basically we get free travel from/to any of the places listed as long as we leave by 5pm. By the rules of Sidepodtime I declare this option void :-)
Okay, I don't want to shock anyone, but I drink beer. And I want to be driven to the track and back, hence to problems with cops or me having to drive a rented car with one eye close. So if there is mass transit, then we are good to go.
For Spa? This requires investigation.
I don't mind where I stay as long as it's clean and has it's own bathroom
At the circuit, I'm fussy
hotels.com is telling me the nearest hotels are about 13 miles away. I'm probably bringing my car with me and I should be sober enough to drive, at least to a transport link if driving to the track is too mental.....
THere are some very expensive ones just under 10 miles away with the cheapest being about 25 miles from the circuit.
I'm planning to bring my car too, but it will resolutely be parked at the hotel from Thursday to Monday for I will be too hungover to drive it. :-)
btw I'll complain about the early starts, but we must have them.
Can I camp in your car?
I wonder how late I could leave it, to decide. Do the tickets sell out?
Transport solutions
http://www.spa-francorchamps.be/en07/home/maps-and-access.php
We'll sort something out
I'm taking my car to Belgium, but not to the circuit
No, he doesn't like it!!
The cheap hotels have no internet.... That could be comical!
Apparently this year's didn't
But I bet the cheaper ones will
We need a place that isn't too posh and isn't too rough. Preferably offering circuit transfers.
Same
Is there camping at the circuit?
And Wi-Fi :D
I am glad I was not the only spoiled by Montreal's Marmots.... I mean charms....
http://www.spagrandprix.com/en/pages/camping-zone-verte.aspx
http://www.spagrandprix.com/en/pages/camping-zone-jaune.aspx
Also, chuck your name on the wiki please if you're even a maybe

#Spa
Good find.
I'm always surprised that Belgium is directly East of the South of England. I always expect Northern France to be there and Belgium to be equivalent to say Manchester..
A very distant maybe at this stage. Unlike Amy, I can't plan an overseas trip 12 months in advance.
If I was to go, it would be for 6 weeks at least.
I think a group of people camping is an option. Not sure when we'd meet but we would somewhere.
I think anywhere in Verviers that we can walk to the bus station from.... There are regular buses direct to the circuit from there that take 45 minutes.
45min is a fair way. On the other hand, the facilties of being in a town with a choice of restaurants probably outweigh that.
Solves the drink/driving problem, and gives you a chance of running in to race teams on an "all nighter"
How are you going to get good transport links much closer than that? Spa's in the middle of nowhere.....
quick q... does the lack of pricing for a grandstand mean it is already sold out, won't be for sale, or is being held back for nearer the time?
Also I'm used to going that far to work so maybe it doesn't seem like a big deal to me!
And pubs! :D
I'm thinking a Sidepodconvoy to leave London on Thursday morning. Pick up Lou. Not one car, all of us, in convoy, 'cos that would be too funny. :-)
Tunnel over, head to hotel at our own pace.
Leave Monday. Possible extra stopover day to explore Brussels.
Which one?
Well this is it. The town option is really appealling.
Exactly
Road Trip!
I'm assuming Lou is coming btw
I though tthe idea was train from London?
Now that would be cool. Fly into GB and catch a lift
Some are doing that
Others are driving
Sure
There is pricing here: http://www.spagrandprix.com/
I'm all for a SidePodConvoy going over! I'll probably make my own arrangements for turning the trip into a proper holiday after the race though.
Yep, saw that... there are no prices for one of the grandstands on the map...
She's pretty up for it
Dad will be gifting it if so, there may be some brownie points to earn first
Bassano and I are advocating the road trip. Others may prefer the train, you can hook up with those guys if you prefer.
Which one?
What about this ticket site:
http://www.spa-tickets.be/spa-francorchamps/f1-tickets.asp
Which is the real one?
ooh, which?
That's what Amy is doing too.
The way I see it, one less space in the car means more space for beer. I know a good place at Calais ;-)
Silver 4... looks like an interesting place to be from the potential for interesting photographs angle on things.
This says official, the other doesn't
If in doubt, check the Wiki
I would love to road-trip in someones car ( if i was going)
I potentially have 2 spaces in my car that I'm happy to fill with SidePodders in London or further North. I need to take my car so I can get a proper holiday afterwards.
right - smallest person asleep, going to stop mithering about wouldn't-it-be-nices and go to sleep!!
G'night LPG
 at "mithering"
I just noticed the "other" ticket site has different dates. It might be dodgy
Hey,
He's laughing again
night
Sorry - northernish roots showing themselves...
That's interesting, I wouldn't have thought it would be sold out already...
Night!
I'll be investigating thoroughly whoever I book through
I potentially have 3 spaces. As long as we have enough spaces for the number of people who want come by car, we can work out who's where later..
The official site has teh FIA logo, for what it's worth.
Where can I find a spare $5000 ?
Passengers need to have weekend bags only. Beer is apparently plentiful in Belgium ;)
Lottery?
Enough underwear for a long weekend.
Beer is for return journey :-)
I wouldn't mind taking a road trip through Europe and contributing a little petrol money and instructions on how to drive better from the backseat
Provional date is 20-22 Aug though it is often the Holiday weekend, which is a week later
I wish they'd confirm it soon
I've booked work off already
[May have to pencil somemore dates in]
I was thinking the professional poker circuit, but lottery might be easier
I'm tempted to take a couple of extra days off work and just drive around randomly.
Lol nothing else is going to fit in my car. It's petite to say the least....
The circuits website lists tickets at
http://www.spagrandprix.com/
I'm thinking this really is the official one
Side trip to the Nordschleife?
Agreed. I'm sure there are some very historical places on our way to a place with loud cars and lots of beer.
Me too
Will happily drop anyone off in Brussells to get the Eurostar back to London
yup, looks good
what is the Eurostar?
Amy's going to Berlin and then onto Monza
Agreed. It has both the F1 logo and the logo the GP itself used this year.
Train via the channel tunnel to Paris or Brussels
Maybe.. I'm not sure I want to drive it in my own car :-)
Reims isn't too far.
Berlin? there's no race track there
A friend took an M5 round. Battered his tyres
Amy's friend is though
Nice town too
You would get lots of encouragement from the back seat!
Okay, gang, I've got to think about this over a "few" beers. Will talk later. Out here
See ya Joe
Bye Joe
Hmmm. Goodwood is at the start of July, Spa the end of August. Not sure if I can spend 2 months away.
Sweet Lord, I've never been anywhere more terrifying in my life!! All the warning notices, I thought I was actually about to die!!!
Did you drive or were you driven?
Sounds like the latter :-)
I've never been..
Sorry, I mean "yeah loads of fun, go for it!!" :P
Did you go there in your Ferrari?
I drove and then was driven. My car has a 1.2l engine though :D Just had to focus on looking in the mirrors and staying out the way of the Lambos.....
You have no idea of the huge amounts of signage they have up though about the risk of this and the danger of that. It's horrendous.....
Why? Someone to pass gives them a challenge.
Dangerous place, lots of people don't realise it
It's in German right? Can't read German - no problem
I had this cunning plan to go to bed early. I failed. I ended up staying up doing lots of unnecessary stuff but I wrote a little bit of sidepodspace stuff so it was really necessary for me to be awake at 4am.
IT WAS.
Shhhh. Sidpodradio asleep
It's like the night before Christmas
So should I be. I am going to bed now.
Good night
I'm gonna get a couple of games of hockey on the PS3 done before 10 pm then off to get some sleep before the 4 am Sidepodradio alarm goes off
Get up early!
Oh dear, that's not too good. Sadly I will miss most, have to be for work Monday morning
I'm up at 4 am on workdays so it shouldn't be too bad, I hope.
That's too bad, it looks like SPR is gonna be a blast, hopefully there will be something for those who miss any of it
Morning, everyone. Just read Joe's blog entry about PK Sr. possibly having warned Charlie Whiting on Crashgate as early as Brazil last year. I commented, but in case it doesn't get published there, I'll leave it here too.
Something doesn’t make sense here. If Piquet Sr told Whiting as early as last year, I think from a cynically political POV that there were more reasons for the FIA to act on it rather than ignore it.
1. Avoid a bigger scandal by waiting longer (obviously)
2. Possibly get Alonso out of his Renault contract en route to Ferrari (makes FOM happy)
3. Possibly get the Singapore results annulled, deducting 6 pts. from Hamilton and allowing them to declare Massa champion (makes FIArrari happy, if that perception is true)
Why wait until the results can’t be changed anymore? Surely the evidence available now was also available back then?
Hi Journeyer.
It didn't really make sense to me either. I must say my respect for Charlie Whiting has gone down a notch. The only reason I cxan see for it is that Piquet Jr was not prepared to make a statement. That family has not exactly come out of this mess cleanly either. But then, why did Snt say anything at all? Seeding some doubt maybe?
The Massa thing is strange too. Given that the FIA seemed to give him a few favorable rulings throughout the year, this would have been the perfect way to hand the championship to him, as you have said.
looks like I made it back from behind the great firewall of China just in time for some show :-)
I got my two games of hockey in and now I better shut everything down and get some sleep so I don't miss any of the event of the year. See you all in 6 hours and 27 minutes
The only reasonable argument I can think of is that the FIA didn't want the title decided in a boardroom - they weren't prepared to cross that line. That said, I'm unconvinced.
Morning all,
Saved by the bell! Was supposed to be meeting up and leaving en masse for the track at 7.10. Woke up desperate for the loo, and during the course of attending to that business I remembered that although I'd set the time on the alarm, I hadn't actually switched it on. Checked the time: 6.50. Never before have I had cause to give thanks to the final pint of the evening.
The most plausible explanation is the official line that it required a proper sworn statement from one of the protagonists (ie NP), and that wasn't forthcoming at the time.
:D Well done! What track are you at - Portimao?
Ahhh. In other words, he wasn't ready to put his neck on the line just yet. Yet he does it now, when he has nothing to lose...
Barcelona, helping out on the media side with a one-make Lambo series. We are very much shoehorned into the track schedule: our second race of the weekend is in 15 minutes and the third is at 4.50.
They seem to be very random times - what's the main race?
Indubitably. To paraphrase Christian Bale, Nelson and race driving are finished professionally.
DTM and F3 Euroseries.
Ivan Capelli is guest driving one of the Lambos. Sadly, his co-driver got caught up in a shunt yesterday and Ivan didn't get in.
Hell. Race is about to start and no TV footage. Keeping track of this one is going to be a back-of-an-envelope job...
...Any chance of a Piquet F1 team?
That's a shame. Would've been good to see him drive.
Back to the 50s for this one...
Two hopes: No hope and Bob Hope.
The car's fixed and he's on the grid as I type.
Where's my pipe?
:D Eloquently said.
Cool! :D Hope he does well.
Hahaha!
And we're off! Audi-os.
Morning everyone :)
hey Alex. Music ready?
I'm good to go! But then I'm on pre-record so not too bad for me...
I just remembered I haven't tested my Skype. Better do that!
I've made a small trailer for Sidepodradio:
http://drop.io/sidepodcast/asset/sidepodradiotrail-mpg
hope it's not too fear inducing...
Hehe. Lucky you didn't put that up earlier in the week. Might have scared some people making shows ;-)
I have this bad habit of looking at the last page of a book first. Poor Jake Turnweed, whatever happened to him?
Like Harry in when Harry met Sally. I have another friend who does that. I've never understood the habit myself.
I don't normally read it you understand. In this case, it probabyl didn't matter.
I wonder why I don't read more short stories. They are perfect for Sunday afternoon
supermarket has been conquered but i forgot to buy cream which is a crucial ingredient in the creme brulee i am making for dessert. Now i have to go out again.
You make me feel lazy. I just got "two fruits"
to be fair its a packet mix so it requires no skill. I just like firing up the blowtorch to burn the sugar
I really should cook more but I hate having left over ingredients
i have that problem too. My creme brulee serves 6 and i am but one girl!
Not the sort of thing you can freeze. House or work mates may be happy though!
Morning All, everyone excited?
Back again.
They can still be used... Although that Nigel Slater prog on TV at the moment is a bit of a swizz, since his suggestions for what to do with leftovers seem to be reliant on converting your garden into an allotment.
It's a peculiar one.
Hey Stuart. DTM on yet?
T - 3 Hours
Warm-up is on at the moment. Timo Scheider is fastest. Anyone else out there think he looks like the SS man from Where Eagles Dare?
:D
How is di Resta going?
He's fourth quickest. As to di Resta them... Ralf S barely quicker than K Legge, as usual.
Right, must dash. Have about 25 minutes after this ghastly racket has stopped to record some interviews for the web site.
I think he will be back, even if it means pks has to buy fom to prove his point.
Everyone was on Lewis's back a few months ago, which has now all been conveniently forgotten. As I see it Lewis's cheating was not only worse than nelson's but also had far less contextual justification. Now people. Are hailing him as the great racer....
I have a blog post on this tomorrow ;)
Could not disagree more. I await the blog post!
i just saw a sleeping Panda
Morning.
I don't think everyone is hailing Lewis as you say. And being asked to increase the risk of injury/death of Drivers/Stewards/Spectators is a whole lot worse than being asked to say something different to stewards about an incident following a safety car. Both are bad though.
Morning all.
awesome stuff alex :)
good morning christine.
are you ready for today?
morning!
Just woke up. Couple more jobs to do this morning, but mostly ready yes. Is everyone else ready for 12 hours of commenting?
Morning lads n lasses.
morning!
No. I was silly enough to plan major work for tomorrow morning. I will only get to listen to 2 or 3 hours :-(
i dunno if i am gonna be able to do 12 hrs
i am hoping to record it all and get it on the drop for you all, if thats ok with mr and mrs c
I'll give you 5-6 hours of interupted commenting.
It'll all be available as replays afterwards. Anyone that does 12 whole hours of commenting is as crazy as we are :)
hehe. Alex has done a scary preview :D
That's fine. We will be doing replays and podcasts, etc, but you will probably get there quicker :)
Will check it out in a moment.
Is everyone ready for the fun and games of the wireless? Plenty of energy drink stockpiled?
Best of luck to everyone! If you need help, and no one else can help... and own on Skype.... feel free to call!
Unfilled then, all my contestants need to be ready to call in to kathy before 10.25pm. I will hopefully be back at 9.
Good luck everyone! :D
that should be "and I am on Skype!"
:D
I think I have my skype working

For Steven:
The Sun came up, went down, and we now have a crescent moon. Is that a major astronomical incident?
Christine is the stream going to change thru out the day for video and then audio only streaming?
You'll have 12 threads for each hour, but there will only be the normal live stream video during the day.
continuous? unless problems? or will it drop for a new show to start?
Fine work by Alex as per usual:
It will stop each hour, and the new thread will go up for the next hour.
okee
Sorry, does that mean the video will stop each hour and restart in the new thread too, or will there be a page we can leave open to watch the video continuously?
As far as I know, the video stops too.
In Norwich city centre and have a look on drop.io to check out what I just found in Chapelfield. ;)
Morning happy campers.
Is it nearly twitchy bum time yet? Good luck with it all!
You found an Apple sign?
More like the new soon to be opening Apple Store in Chapelfield. :P
Right, done my bit to spread the word...
Morning! :D
hey all.
Morning all..
Howdy.
Good morning one & all, hope my PC will stay running as long as possible & won't see the blue screen today
I wonder why the Apple store is down. We're not expecting anything new
or are we? :)
Not that I had heard of
It's probably a revamp of the store.
*Cue Dramatic Music*
Probably
Almost ready for Sidepodradio now... Just prepared myself by watching tv for a few hours. I watched that Derren Brown thing which could have been a disaster as the computer was out of reach!
Luckily it didn't work!
ooh its 8pm already? I need to get myself settled for a few hours of SPR!
Only 1 hour to go for the 9pm start time
I must get myself ready. I may have had too mush red wine (if there is any such thing as too much)
I can hear the red bloomin arrows now.
was planning on keeping justin.tv as a backup. but i think they're down?
http://www.justin.tv/sidepodcast
Poo. Just like the Apple store
use utream Mr C

Sorry Ustream
Don't complain about that. The Red Arrows rock.
my Justin.tv page opens correctly http://www.justin.tv/slvaaron
Are they flying flowers all of a sudden?
hmm, not for me?
I'm just glad I ain't playing a team in Gateshead today.
That opens fine for me but not yours :(
my Justin.tv page opens correctly http://www.justin.tv/slvaaron problem could be local, http://www.justin.tv/sidepodcast does not open but
does
indeedy. I am expecting to be around for the first 4 hours or so, then I will need to sleep :(
#countrysidefacts stinging nettles sting!
I am very excited which is odd considering I can't time in! But whoo all the same! :D
Oh look a horse!
Mr C http://www.justin.tv/sidepodcast is still not opening however http://www.ustream.tv/sidepodcast does
that's annoying, but hopefully not the end of the world. we did a justin test last week, haven't used ustream for about a year.
with any luck we won't need either :)
I have been very happy with ustream except for the ads.
Ustream is pretty good, good for the iPhone too
Is there a running order? I may be able to drop in this afternoon before we head out to the Lewisham Fayre to see...

Good luck everyone.

Sidepodradio Hour 1 - http://www.sidepodcast.com/2009/09/19/live-sidepodradio-hour-1/
For real this time.
Cheers :)
For sure?
'Fo Shizzle?
When does a racing driver say "shizzle" in an interview?
Insane, like, izzit.
If they're feeling 'street'
Obviously! :)
D'oh! Just thinking that!
Does that mean we have to expect Kimi to be the first since he's all huge cap streetwise? That conjurs up a mental picture I'm not liking
Like at Monaco?
Exactly.
:) Kimi's the most 'Street' out of all the drivers.
