Will Murray still be smiling tomorrow?
Yesterday was Women’s quarter- finals day, sadly I didn’t get to watch much of the tennis, but I hear weather caused a number of frustrations with cancelled/ postponed/ delayed play everywhere at SW19. Notable performances include Sabine Lisicki, Maria Sharapova, Victoria Azarenka and Petra Kvitova all defeating their opponents to make it into the Ladies’ Semi Finals day on Thursday.
However lets not forget the sweet shop of matches that have been lined up for us today. My goodness are we in for a treat! I’ll show you a sample of the matches we have lined up for us and you’ll see what I mean.
Centre Court – 13:00
- Jo-Wilfred Tsonga vs Roger Federer
- Andy Murray vs Feliciano Lopez
Court 1 – 13:00
- Bernard Tomic vs Novak Djokovic
- Rafael Nadal vs Mardy Fish
See what I mean? I’m not sure we could have asked for a better day of Mens’ Quaterfinals! Mean while we also have some excited doubles matches, the famous Bryan brothers are among those in action on the other courts too. You can find the whole schedule of play here.
In addition to the very brilliant singles line up we’ve been offered we are also in for more great tennis from the invitation doubles matches that are happening today. Famous names from the past that will be making a return include Pat Cash, Annabel Croft, Martina Navratilova and Lindsay Davenport. I must not forget the wonderful Mansour Bahrami and his doubles partner for today, Andrew Castle. I’ve mentioned before just how much I love watching Bahrami play and it’s certainly something I recommend if your plans allow for it. He’s last up on court 19 so should be playing in the evening. It’s guaranteed to be an entertaining match!
With such an amazing day lined up for us there isn’t anything more for me to say other than I hope you really enjoy it everyone!

I is watching Lisick play doubles. I like that she hasn't pulled out, lots of players do when they have good runs in the singles which really isn't very nice to their partners
Amazingly Roger has the best BP conversion rate of the 8 remaining men, at 19/38 or 50%. I hope no one reminds him that normally he sucks a lot more than that.
