If omens are your thing, Ukraine captain Andriy Shevchenko getting hit by a car after their win against Sweden must signal something. He was not badly injured, and is likely to be part of their lineup this evening. Their 2-1 win over Sweden was slightly better than France's 1-all draw over England, but France have the advantage in the head-to-head. Their last meetup saw the French team beat Ukraine 4-1, with the final three goals coming in the very late stages of the match.

    Evening all.

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 15:53

    Hello world.

  • Steven Roy15/06/2012 at 15:53

    Hi Will and everyone else.

If anyone is lurking pop in and say hello while there are not so many scary people around

  • Steven Roy15/06/2012 at 15:55

I guess if I am here before the start of the game my ability to bring goals probably won't work

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 15:55

Maybe they'll score straight from kick off?

  • Steven Roy15/06/2012 at 15:56

Maybe they'll score straight from kick off?

Maybe but as I expect to be in at the start of every game from now on I can't see that happening in all of them

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 15:57

This thunder and lighting is reminding me of the Turkey-Germany game in 2008, which sorta disrupted the TV signal.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 15:58

I think a UKR win would be best for us.

  • Steven Roy15/06/2012 at 16:02

    Looks a little damp

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 16:04

    Come on you yellows!!

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 16:05

    Lightening

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 16:05

    Match suspended eh.

  • Steven Roy15/06/2012 at 16:05

    Short game

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 16:05

That's going to ruin the schedule.

  • Mark15/06/2012 at 16:05

    COME ON! THIS ISN'T NASCAR!

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 16:06

    Get the jet dryers out

  • Steven Roy15/06/2012 at 16:06

Finally someone pointed a camera at the sky

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 16:06

    Stadium with a roof anybody?

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 16:08

Can't beat a bit of spectacular lightning.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 16:08

Was the ref the only highlight of the game to show?

  • Steven Roy15/06/2012 at 16:09

Looks like I have stopped brining goals and started bringing biblical storms

  • Mark15/06/2012 at 16:09

In all seriousness this is Fuji 2007 all over again.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 16:10

Somebody get the trunks out and turn it into water-polo.

  • Steven Roy15/06/2012 at 16:13

If this was Newcastle fat Geordies would be standing there without a shirt

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 16:15

At Bolton there is a guy who never wears a shirt.

  • Mark15/06/2012 at 16:15

If this was Newcastle fat Geordies would be standing there without a shirt

Using it as a chance for a shower. ;)

  • Christine15/06/2012 at 16:18

    Who turned the taps on?

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 16:19

Why not show some classic Euro moments now, maybe Denmark v Germany 92, or maybe England v Germany 96, rather than the same highlights I must have seen 6,000 times by now.

  • Pat W15/06/2012 at 16:19

Oh that's disappointing, hopefully it won't affect both games

  • Christine15/06/2012 at 16:19

Why not show some classic Euro moments now, maybe Denmark v Germany 92, or maybe England v Germany 96, rather than the same highlights I must have seen 6,000 times by now.

And they're not very high highlights!

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 16:21

And they're not very high highlights!

Surely the highlight was the final whistle, when we could stop worrying about conceding again.

  • Steven Roy15/06/2012 at 16:23

I finally get a chance to see two games on one day and this happens

  • jwcrummett15/06/2012 at 16:25

    I bring goals!

  • jwcrummett15/06/2012 at 16:25

    Oh wait, it's halftime.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 16:25

Because you couldn't give us a goal before kick off, football crashed, and now needs rebooting.

  • jwcrummett15/06/2012 at 16:25

    What is the score?

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 16:31

    Come on England!

  • jwcrummett15/06/2012 at 16:32

Oh so it isn't really halftime is it. There is a hurricane going on.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 16:33

Oh so it isn't really halftime is it. There is a hurricane going on.

Pretty much - looks like a monsoon.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 16:36

Have you seen the chairs the ITV guys are sat in? Looks like they've been made from giant Shreddies

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 16:44

I imagine the England-Sweden game will be pushed back 15 minutes then?

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 16:54

    Full 90 or time remaining?

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 16:55

    Full 90 or time remaining?

Time remaining I would imagine. Granted, that's pretty much a full 90 minutes.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 16:56

I think the French will be the most put off by this - slow ball, no bounce etc.

  • Mark15/06/2012 at 17:02

Time remaining I would imagine. Granted, that's pretty much a full 90 minutes.

They'll also be a couple of minutes behind the safety car.

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 17:03

I'd hate to be a keeper in this.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 17:04

I'd hate to be a keeper in this.

I think we'll be seeing a lot more punches than catches.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 17:10

Before you call him on diving, don't forget that he is an old man.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 17:11

Ball didn't run as far as he wanted it to on that break.

  • Mr C15/06/2012 at 17:14

just a thought. have we seen a bad off-side call from a linesman this tournament. every one i've seen on replay has been spot on.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 17:15

The French look very dangerous ... thank goodness we've already played them.

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 17:15

England game delayed 15 minutes... https://twitter.com/JamieRfootball/status/213680053551239170

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 17:17

Some of the French tackling is looking rather cynical.

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 17:18

just a thought. have we seen a bad off-side call from a linesman this tournament. every one i've seen on replay has been spot on.

There's been a few, but I don't think they made much difference...

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 17:25

I think the decent ball has made the games better (compared to the last few tournaments).

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 17:26

    Save keeper.

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 17:26

    Save keeper.

More like a poor finish I think.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 17:27

More like a poor finish I think.

Yeah - I'd probably say that. but on first sight, I was willing him to save it.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 17:35

Some (official) England team news, via @StanCollymore: Hart / Johnson Terry Lescott Cole / Milner Gerrard Parker Young / Carroll Welbeck

    (Confirming all rumours)

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 17:36

    That was a good save.

  • jwcrummett15/06/2012 at 17:37

    4-4-2 then?

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 17:38

    4-4-2 then?

    Yup

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 17:39

The England strike partnership have 10 caps and 2 goals between them, Sweden's 142 & 42.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 17:43

    OFF

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 17:44

That half was a bit of a damp squib

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 17:45

That half was a bit of a damp squib

I think there was a bit too much rain on the parade.

  • Mr C15/06/2012 at 17:45

    :)

  • jwcrummett15/06/2012 at 17:57

Running to lunch. Guess I wont miss as much of the England match though now.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 17:58

    KO in an hour

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 18:05

Penalty?? Pushing more than just strength

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 18:06

    It's about time Menez scored.

  • Mark15/06/2012 at 18:06

    VIVE LA FRANCE!

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 18:07

It's been coming for a while

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 18:09

It's been coming for a while

Hm, yeah. Ukraine also seem wasteful with their chances, so I'm not sure they're going to come back easily either.

Still no 0-0s at the Euros yet either, which I fully expect to change once England kick off.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 18:09

    And again.

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 18:09

    Could be a rout now...

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 18:10

Still no 0-0s at the Euros yet either, which I fully expect to change once England kick off.

So long as we win, I don't mind.

  • Mark15/06/2012 at 18:10

It's about time the most attractive player at this tournament got a goal :)

  • Mr C15/06/2012 at 18:10

    And again.

    wow.

  • Christine15/06/2012 at 18:10

I blinked and they got two.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 18:23

Did he just say Schev and car crash?

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 18:26

If the French can do this to UKR, can we do similar in the last match?

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 18:27

It's about time the most attractive player at this tournament got a goal :)

But Niko Kranjcar hasn't scored yet...

  • Mark15/06/2012 at 18:29

But Niko Kranjcar hasn't scored yet...

    He's a close second.

  • Mark15/06/2012 at 18:33

France should make this interesting by putting Barthez in goal for a bit.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 18:35

The BBC have had to start their prog already, and are just filling.

  • Ryan15/06/2012 at 18:42

Have Ukraine actually had a shot on target?

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 18:43

Have Ukraine actually had a shot on target?

    BBC say 2.

  • Steven Roy15/06/2012 at 18:47

I got so distracted during the lightning storm that I ended up missing the whole game.

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 18:48

I got so distracted during the lightning storm that I ended up missing the whole game.

    You didn't miss much

  • Mr C15/06/2012 at 18:48

I got so distracted during the lightning storm that I ended up missing the whole game.

from what i saw, that was the best bit.

  • Steven Roy15/06/2012 at 18:48

from what i saw, that was the best bit.

Different kind of high lights to normal then

  • Mr C15/06/2012 at 18:48

    hehe

  • Mr C15/06/2012 at 18:53

i take back what i said about football coping rain better than f1...

  • Will^15/06/2012 at 18:54

i take back what i said about football coping rain better than f1...

The players didn't change their boots though. But then again, the were already wearing wets.
