Westminster Abbey
Love them or hate them, the Royals are adding to their rich history today, as Prince William - second in line to the throne - marries his long-term girlfriend Kate Middleton. Since the couple announced their engagement towards the end of last year, the spotlight has inched ever closer to them, until this week when things ramped up royally (pardon the pun).
The BBC will be bringing us pictures live, with programming due to start at 8am and lasting pretty much all day.
On Twitter, the hashtag to follow is officially #rw2011 but I have also seen #RoyalWedding floating around as well. They'll be plenty of other ways to follow it, I'm sure, as it seems like no one is talking about anything else!
At 11am BST, the marriage ceremony will begin at Westminster Abbey, and billions will be tuned in to watch Ms Middleton become Princess Catherine. There's a great guide to the day on the Beeb, but I've pulled out the important bits in a table here.
| Time | Event |
|---|---|
| 08:00 | TV coverage begins |
| 08:15 | General congregation starts to arrive |
| 10:15 | Prince William and Harry arrive at Westminster Abbey |
| 10:25 | The Royal family begin to leave Buckingham Palace |
| 10:40 | The Queen leaves Buckingham Palace |
| 10:51 | The bride leaves her hotel heading for Westminster Abbey |
| 11:00 | The marriage service begins |
| 12:15 | The bride and bridegroom travel to Buckingham Palace |
| 13:25 | The Queen and happy couple appear on the balcony |
| 13:30 | RAF flypast |
This thread is for everyone who wants to watch and comment on the day ahead. I'd like to sneak in a quick reminder that Sidepodcast doesn't really do politics, so stay positive, steer clear of any 'bring down the monarchy' talk and we'll all have a fabulous day.
Here's a great game to start you off: your name as it appears on the invitation list!
Step 1: Choose your title
Step 2: Your first name is a name of your Grandparent
Step 3: Your first part of your double barrelled surname is the name of your first pet
Step 4: Your second surname is the name of the street you grew up on.
So mine is Lord Hannibal Patch-Longay :D
Whoo- go wedding!
OOh...
Maharajah Joseph Farah-Za'abeel II
i have left work 15 minutes early to minimise the amount of coverage I'll miss. I also have a bag of chips, some dip and a bottle of Pepsi Max that I'm going to drink from a champagne flute to make it classy ;). I also plan to wear a tiara as I watch for that extra princess feeling :)
Quick!
You're missing it! :P
that is classy!
BBC just had an advert on for a city in china based on it being "Where the real pandas live"
Already a sidepodcast tie in!
Its Chengdu, lots of pandas there (unsure about there excitement about the wedding)
OOh... BREAKING NEWS
William will become the Duke of Cambridge
*awaits for reaction in oxford*
I cant find my tiara :(
In my haste to get home my pepsi got a bit shaken up so im not opening that yet :)
My plan is to go to a beach bar/nightclub and down pimms whislt making a sandcastle
They will have the wedding on big screens though!
More than 1000 guests are personal friends and acquaintances of the couple.
I sooo don't know 1000 people.
So far I like this Huw chap and I've seen about a billion other BBC people who are stationed all over the place. No Jake yet though!
Heikki's mate richard quest is presenting the cnn coverage
I have at least 8 channels of coverage to choose from but I decided BBC via UKTV was the best choice :)
I've never been so thankful I finally got my employee package installed :D
ooh royal wedding meets sidepodspace. We are now checking in with the ISS.
Apparently he's going to be flying in a Lancaster Bomber?
"I don't think that hairstyle is going to be beaten today"
No gravity wins.
*BBC future not not looking quite so rosey!
They're telling me to go to http://bbc.co.uk/royalwedding but it ain't loading. I dread to think what it'll do in 3 hours time :)
ooh Royal weddings of the past. Prince Philip was a dashing young man :D
Lauren Lavern is also very good.
Also I hadn't ever seen her before, but the Indian lady who is on dress watch seems great fun :)
Now the day has come only few hours there for royal wedding so people around the world will watch the wedding T.V. media will also awaiting to live royal wedding all over the world so all wish them to live lifelong together with one or two children.
I like that she said it reminds her of an Indian wedding because its so large :D
BBC world has that 'royal correspondent' Nicholas Witchal who really annoys me... grr
I didn't realise she was older than him.
oh William, age has not been kind to you.
Yes. I don't know if he'll be involved at all today.
I am learning things about the Abbey. So educational.
theres trees inside!
gosh Giggles, look at all the trouble they're going to for your sidepodiversary!
haha the BBC went up to an american woman and said "You Dont have a royal family in america" really agressivly. i was kinda expecting him to follow up with a "na na na na na"
BBC World coverage sounds a few steps below the main BBC coverage!
Im not sure why they need 2! I think BBC america have coverage too, its crazy!
UKTV are being kind and not having adbreaks. It's just like being there ;)
I am watching CNN and flicking to BBC during their adbreaks. Quest is awesome
Most of the seats in that Abbey appear to have absolutely zero view.
I know it's quite something!
I think I might get sick of all the Diana talk because theres been lots already but gosh if there was one day I'd like to have my mum around it'd be my wedding day. It must be awful not having your mum around on such a big day in your life.
The largest collection of British royalty memorabilia in the world.
Wow.
I think they had that on the daily show last night, john oliver is really funny but i felt bad!
they were talking to the woman who owns it, she's Australian and has already bought more than 1000 more pieces on this trip to London. Her house must be bigger than mine :D
In the meantime, don't forget to check out the Royal Wedding Tat Website! http://royalweddingtat.tumblr.com/
Karun says to Silvi "it's true !! us foreigners seem more into it than the Brits... think every country needs a royal family !"
I definitely agree with the first bit but not the last :)
Harry seems to be getting more Windsory as he gets older too. The genes in that family are so cruel to young men.
what do you mean by "Windsory"?
a lot less handsome :)
My nan always told me to wear a coat whenever we went as "it blows there"
she didnt quite realise that it meant something else bless her :)
I see
Ok, time to head to 'the great british beach party" :D
It's like Diana was in charge of their genes until they were 23-24 then WHAM Charles' features took over.
ooh I want to see what Victoria is wearing.
oh Vicky, thats an awful hat.
It's well rub. I think she's trying to pick up the tv signal!
it'd be alright if she wasn't wearing it on her forehead. thats not where hats go.
and after relating the royals to space, now we can relate the royals to F1, I never knew the woman in the infamous Prince Harry groping picture was Natalie Pinkham. Here they are together in a much more appropriate photo :)
Rowan sounds like rodger moore
speaking of Rowans, I love that Mr Bean will be at their wedding. Clearly the Queen has forgiven him for that time he headbutted her :D
ooh there he is!
I never knew they were an item
apparently they weren't, and she has sued people who said they were :D
Yes... I did think of mentioning it before. However... She has sued people who have suggested they are an item, so I decided not to.
Better take that back then!
I think he's going to do an impression of the reverend up at the front a la four weddings.
Good job I'm not invited, would be late as per usual. Tut tut.
Sidepodtime
Have I missed any important outfits?
Victoria Beckham was wearing a hat attached to her forehead.
Earl Spencer has lost all of his gingerness.
Oh yes. So is Tara P-T!
I thought it was all going to be a big surprise like that time you were all quiet and then you turned up here! I was expecting our first comment to be "on the ipad, in the cathedral"
Hehehehe!
It looks like a shoe. It must be in, but frankly a la dragons den, I'm out!
oh my god! surely thats right in her vision.
I would definitely find that distracting.
"does anybody have 1000 friends?"
good, so it's not just me who doesn't.
I think they got all of their friends due to a Facebook campaign sponsored by air asia
That explains the large Malaysian flag.
if you're as skinny as her and vicky, wide-brimmed hats look ridiculously top heavy
#nothere #definitelynotcommentingonfashion
Hahahaha at boris! Pam from Moss Bros!!! Go Boris!
:)
I bet not a lot of people in the world can say the Mayor of London gave them a tandem bicycle.
And I love that he accidentally gave away what he was getting them
Ooh, Dan Snow.
He posted a Youtube video on it last night.
Oooh hair time
She has nice hair anyway, I hope they don't ruin it.
http://www.youtube.com/user/MayorsOfficeLondon#p/u/0/IFJYAVhWgfw
It must be a lot of logistics to keep your hair and dress secret when the whole world is watching your wedding preparations.
Exactly. But it is her usual chap so that's good.
Elton!
ooh Elton
It's weird seeing famous people doing normal things like... waiting in line and finding their seats.
am I supposed to know who these crowd shots are of? Because I don't. And I don't know if its because they're not famous or because I'm not British :D
And as the saying goes, "and his partner David furnish"
I don't. They might be all the school friends and such. We're probably supposed to be appreciating the outfits.
fair enough. I might go NZ Prime Minister spotting, at least I know what he looks like. Australia is quite excited to see what Julia Gillard is wearing because she quite often gets that wrong :D
I think so. The camera man seems to be doing quite a few shots of the three platinum blond ladies (sisters?)
I'd be annoyed if a lady sat in the row in front of me in one of those giant hats.
Come on tim
I didn't visit any of these royal family places when I was in London.
horseys!
Looks a bit cloudy and grey.
Julia watch
ooh John and Julia are hanging out.
all of these dresses they're showing are awful
Remember these aren't actual dresses they would give for this kind of occasion. Fashion show dresses are absolutely mad.
Blonde watch. The cameraman was on them again. Maybe they are important?
oh definitely.
A girl I work with today was trying to tell me that Kate has awful daggy style but I think she dresses really well. This girl always looks like the latest fashions have thrown up on her so I'm not sure she understands simple, elegant pieces :)
microphone in one hand, thermos in the other. love it.
Those people are wearing wedding dresses.
People are nuts. I can say that since I'm not wearing that tiara I can't find.
:)
Fearne Cotton, eh.
they're still hiding Jake
If he's in the Lancaster you won't see him until the flypasty?
surely they could cut to him just to check in, that's hoooours away :D
I've done the leg work peeps. They are Earl Spencer's daughters.
ahhh I never would've guessed. They're much better looking than him :D
gosh thats an awful lot of horseys
Think she's doing quite well. She seems to have also got a bracelet covering her wrist tatoo.
Well done!
ooh the tension
So Will is going to be in uniform no?
appears so :)
It's a bit red!
it'll be weird if they ever ask us to start calling Harry Henry
Are any of the Danish Royals there BTW?
I would like to hire whoever cleaned that car. It's so shiny.
That will be weird.
Not as weird as when we have to call prince Charles - King George.
What!
I guess thats better than King Charles because that just makes me think of spaniels.
eh? Why?
Queenie's going apparently.
Harry looks more nervous than Wills.
Harry looks more nervous than his brother.
All three of the previous King Charles have ended their reigns quite bloodily. So it's been widely suggested but not confirmed that he'll change his name.
Lots of kings have.
William was going to be called Arthur which would have been fun because we've never had one of those. But Diana vetoed.
I suppose we've never had to wait that long before he gets crowned I suppose. But haven't there only been two King Charles?
Oooh didn't know that!
I can't decide which uniform I like better.
It's really quite insane how long the Queen has been the Queen. It's weird to think that even my parents don't remember there being anyone other than her.
Way ahead of you Huw
:D
Hehe. @chrishughespr:
Harry looks like he's on the hunt for the designated smoking area. #royalwedding
I have just learned that Earl Spencers daughters are not triplets, but two of them are twins. I'll remember that in case I ever need it for pub trivia.
Well without wanting to get too political pretender to the throne Bonny Prince Charlie styled himself as Charles III of England and Scotland.
So naming himself Charles III as he'd have to do might upset a lot of Scottish people.
it'll be quite an effort to reissue most of the currency of Commonwealth nations.
They need to introduce some new names into the royals. Like Wayne or Frank.
Franck
They could have a daughter then name it after her sister and one day we'd have Queen Pippa.
Well yes, one step at a time though :)
That could work!
It's so modern for the royals to travel by minibus.
Royalty is a bit old fashioned the way Beatrice gets to be a princess but Zara doesn't even though they both get to call the Queen their grandmother.
They are all on the coach. I am just immagining them all pulling up at the services.
I want Princess Kate :(
I was reading an interview with her dads godmother and she said everyone in the family calls her Catherine and only the media call her Kate.
I will accept Princess Catherine.
sounds good to me.
Does this make Miss Hyde the new Waity Kaity?
well Mrs Middleton doesn't look awful, thats a good start
My daughter has declared that this is the correct name. I have spent ages this morning trying to explain what she will really be known as, but it does not appear to matter!
If you marry a Prince, you become a Princess. Disney says so.
Love the errk noise the dress lady made
Yes, it is true. Everything she knows about royalty is filtered via Disney.
Eugenie is an awful name.
They are in cars, they must be better royals.
Yes, but think how much worse it could have been....
I sooo dont recognise any of this part of the royal family
Duchess of Kent in pale pink, Princess Michael of Kent with v large greyish hat.
Kate will of course be known as Princess Kate. But she will technically be Princess William.
Like princess michael of kent
Silly.
if Wills dad is Charles and my dad is Charles, I'm practically royalty!
I thought that was only if they hadn't been given new titles, but she'll have her own now, like the Duchess of York did?
how do I get a fanfare when I leave my house?
Ringtone :)
small speaker and mp3player?
ooh, smart.
I never wear yellow though, I'm not as pimping as Lizzy.
Well nobody ever called princess Diana princess Charles... I have no idea why princess Michael is the only one ever refferred to by their "proper" name.
The idea is to differentiate between people who are princesses in their own right (who have their own name) and prince consorts who take teir husbands name.
Prince Philip is dressed like the groom. What a faux pas ;)
Yes. All of the titles are true aren't they? I can't remember I think she'll technically be princess William, duchess of cambridge.
that gold cape is amazing. I want a cape.
You want a cape and a fanfare? That's just greedy.
All my knowledge of this comes from the Telegraph, so it's hardly guaranteed to be accurate, but they say no, just HRH Duchess of Cambridge in her own right.
That is quite a yellow outfit. She looks like a canary.
Ensuring she can be seen in the photos!!
looking good for 85
Fairy snuff :)
It's weird having to curtsey to your step-mum.
Not that it matters. Every paper/tv show will call her Princess Kate regardless, won't they? :)
Imagine if the queen makes it to 101 like her mum. Thats an epic lifespan. It's like she's living just to spite Charles
Philip looks like he wants to say a joke to charles
looks like an epic train
I saw a glimpse of white.
Philip: bloke's come in the same dress as your mother
I don't like long sleeved wedding dresses much
Just so long as it's not puffy, she'll be fine.
Handy given the weather. Goose pimples!
'tis traditional for the Abbey though.
they keep going on about how this wedding is breaking all the traditions though :D
Awww. She looks really happy
They both look really happy. Never seen such smiley royals.
I'm not really sure it is at all
She has a proper wave too.
No 2 to Norwood bus station back there Kate could have jumped on and popped over here for my sidepodiversary ;)
Maybe they'll drop by afterwards. Best make sure you have the walls painted just in case.
wow Pippa is tiny
Heh. Funny names kids
Why is that bit like a beach?
That's horseguards. It's for horseys :)
Ahh.
That's where they are going to have the beach vollyball for 2012
those bells are epically belly
i like the dress!
They looked like quite high heels.
quite a tight grip on her dad there :)
she looks like shes going to cry
I find veils weird.
I only like half ones, I don't like brides with covered faces. But it is old fashioned so it suits her I guess :)
eeeeeeeeek
harry still looks terrified
Right I've got to pop in the loft. See you for the carridge & balcony bit!
They planned it a bit wrong because they straightened out her train and then made her walk round a corner.
Hello all, nice dress
I like that her train is not ridiculous
I thought the little bridesmaids covering their ears from the bells was cute
It's quite a long way.
Yep, it's just enough, without overpowering her completely
about a 3 min walk I think.
I'd have already rolled an ankle on my heels if I had to go that far
Me too!
have a peek Harry :D
is it traditional for him to not watch her walk down the aisle? What torture!
Argh, it's all so embarrassing. I might not be able to watch.
You can't see much at the Abbey anyway.
Quite a lot of pressure on the organist. Can't be stumbling over your keys.
I wonder how many of these people are just pretending to sing.
It's ok, they've got the choirs to cover them.
Definitely Camilla :)
much better with the veil off your face :)
Very traditional service, which I like.
Uh oh, key moment.
that silence is always terrifying
Did they just swap vicar people?
It's the only legal bit together with them saying the next bit
I'd quite like someone to smile
Yes, this is the Archbish
He couldn't be bothered to do the other bit?
I think they like to share it around, everyone gets their turn
ahh, he's found his voice.
That's very fair :)
i give thee my troth. Whats a troth.
Ooh, troth is a good word.
Promise, I think
Promise, faithfully, it's a version of truth
as opposed to what pigs eat out of
trough!
Just had the same conversation with my son!!
ahh yes thats it :D
oh WIlliam could you talk any faster!
ooh, I had this hymn at my wedding!
I think he's nervous. It's actually easier if you learn it rather than repeat it as you have to think about what you're saying
makes sense. As someone who's never done this I can't judge. I can say if I get married it won't look a thing like this one though :D
It's traditional. An organist friend of ours always used to recommend "Turn back O Man forswear thy foolish ways" after the vows ;)
A friend of my mother's is an MBE and her son got to get married in St Paul's. What can you get a parent to do to qualify?
Ooh, big pictures already: http://www.theatlantic.com/infocus/2011/04/royal-wedding-in-photos/100057/
Are they actually married yet?
The first picture is lovely
Yes. They've done the legal bit and said they want to marry each other, everything else is just padding.
this is what I gather is about to happen:
then theres a song
then theres an address
then theres a song
then theres a prayer
then theres a hymn
then theres a blessing
then theres the national anthem
Epic.
I love Rutter, his work is fantastic.
at some point I have to go and make some sandwiches for the party this afternoon. not sure that will have made it into the official programme though...
I may or may not be singing along and trying to guess the tune as I go. Making the most of this programme with all the lyrics I am :D
That's the way with most hymns, I think. Do they have actual tunes? :)
In the UK we have a religious programme called "Songs of Praise" where they put the words up for the hymns. Am disappointed they have not done the same for this :)
ooh they do that in New Zealand, I used to see it when I worked in a rest home on Sunday mornings :D
Not only do they have tunes but sometimes you sing the words of one hymn to the tune of another which is most confusing.
:)
Sharing out the duties again
Theres some latin coming up. I wont try sing along with that.
Wills looks quite tired. Sleepless night I reckon.
Out on the town with Harry?
think i'll go make the sandwiches now in the boring talky bits. back soon!
All this talking would send me to sleep, wow.
do they not get to kiss until they get up to the balcony in like an hours time?
They are using the 1662 Book of Common Prayer service. "You may now kiss the bride" isn't in that version ;) You never know though
Lord's Prayer! Something I actually recognise :)
that was my train of thought :D
So many different versions of that!
And a hymn I've heard of. It's all coming together now.
Hope you're singing along
I'm excited about God Save the Queen. I know the words! And normally when I sing it she's not on my telly.
It sort of goes: "And did those feet in ancient times, walk along hmm bah da da."
I'm not so good with remembering :)
wooo!
I want to be the drummer.
must be weird singing that about your nana
and Jerusalem was my second hymn! didn't have God Save The Queen though.
I want them to sing the second verse & see who knows the words. Ah well, we'll get it next year for the Jubilee
I don't get why national anthems always have so many verses when no one ever needs to know them. New Zealands other anthem has five!
Where did they go?
To sign the registers. This is the bit where someone sings & everyone chats (which is annoying when you're singing)
I want more crowd shots. Seeing how bored people are is hilarious.
zara's hat is quite fantastic!
Mr C comments on the weird forehead hats: "Why are they not affected by gravity?" :)
pins and straps, probably. Tara P-T's is quite astonishing.
I like a good fanfare
Ooh, they came out of a secret door.
I bet they had a kiss back there
They have to walk about three miles apart so he doesn't stand on her dress.
I wonder if she'll put her bouquet on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. I think Princess Anne did
I read that she will
Harry and Pippa look cosy too. Another Royal Wedding please.
Harry & Pippa having a chat
Jake! http://t.co/5lMD1Px
ooh yes, shes looking much nicer than Chelsea today.
Nice picture
Good thing it's not pouring with rain
How is she going to get in that gracefully? Good grief.
I'm imagining lots of practice at the Royal Mews
I'm very impressed.
shes allergic to horses. thats gotta suck right now.
Joshua is insisting the Household Cavalry are in fact knights.
Afternon
How many hours to go? :)
Four.
Wow!
The Americans must be quite tired by now, didn't their coverage start at 4am on the East Coast or something?
Another couple of weeks I imagine, hello
Harry looks much happier now.
He'll get more attention when the fuss dies down, hopefully not of the bad variety
I think he was my favourite part of the wedding, it was cute when he had his wee peek at her then said to Will 'wait til you see her' <3
He might. Or they might start a family and he'll be less important.
Brotherly love :)
That's probably what's going to happen isn't it?
He's got 12 months to make it big! :D
all the horse droppings really ruin the picture
in that terribly amazing movie I watched the other night he said "I'm not the heir, I'm the spare"
I'm sure the real Prince Harry makes witty comments just like that. Or not.
Royal Marbles
Look at all them horses! It's like the Grand National.
Jumps would make it fun
tight turn at beechers coming up
I wonder just how doped up on antihistamines she is
How can she be a royal if she's allergic to horses?
lots and lots of drugs
I hope the News of the World aren't scanning the internet for quotes right now
Beatrices hat is my favourite
is that the one that looks like a giant ampersand?
I went with spider but yes
I kinda want to hear and the horses are hitting every apex but even with drs they can't pass the motorcade, but their tyres are a few dry runs newer so perhaps on the main straight...
People have already decided on the best hats
http://www.people.com/people/package/gallery/0,,20395222_20485864,00.html
pretty sure that winning carriage was running a higher angle of rake there. charlie needs to take a look at that before nightfall.
Why does victoria beckham always look like she's chewing a wasp?
She had rubbish teeth as a kid and learned never to smile in public, never got out of the habit once she had them fixed.
Did she get rubbish teeth from the wasps then? :D
The beach is so hot, I am dying... Applying a jug of pimms
Off to work, enjoy the celebrations people
The Queens royal wave is so much better than Williams. He waves like I do.
Aww, I like normal waves.
I like them too :) I like that he's the most "normal" generation of royalty.
What is Edith wearing!
I believe its a pink tablecloth
singing on tv, embarrassing
that crowd is terrifying
it's like domino rally, they're split into to two lanes :)
I'm thinking a slightly slower London Marathon.
:)
what a polite crowd. Anywhere else would be pushing those cops over
"how great you're doing all of this for charity. but we wont let you tell us what that charity is"
bbc charter is odd.
it's not, they could have mentioned it quite easily but Fearne is not the brightest presenter they have out there today
Just saw it. Amazing!
So I can't get the BBC working for the life of me but the Telegraph has video
Ooh tweets on screen. That's fun.
hehe!
That is a lot of people.
I'm scared just looking at it
i love that people have been there all night in person, yet managed to see nothing whatsoever of the event.
Jake!
ooh is it jake time?
Kate wowed at the people. She's scared too.
that young kid is channeling christine, right there :)
Oiiii.
jaaake!
JAKE!!!
Jake
Jake in a plane. Not snakes.
oh
That was brief.
Two kisses! The crowd are spoiled.
i think the superbowl did timing better than that.
I want the Red Arrows.
before the next royal wedding i need to work on my lipreading skills. 30 years or so should be long enough.
they seem to be having jake problems
good luck trying to get out of the middle of that crowd
Teenage boys: "Mm, yea, was alright."
I bet the water in that fountain is cold.
he looks nothing like him
Worst lookalikes ever.
bye bye bbc!
I'm going to watch my DVR later to get the whole thing. Pesky work interrupted today. I'll follow this thread later, thanks for it. :)
Have a good day.
I've moved to the webstream in my quest for more Jake as my TV has gone to Graham Norton
just home and missed it. i do like her dress though.. woah.
mmmmm ... David. :-) http://cdn02.okcdn.okmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Royal_Wedding_April29_2950-copy.jpg
how does that hat stay on???
i'm guessing pins or hair grips?
midday guinness: http://sidepodcast.posterous.com/good-times
All photos up now: http://www.theatlantic.com/infocus/2011/04/royal-wedding-in-photos/100057/
I was dipping in and out of this from about 11:15, sort of skipped the Churchy bit. Amazing number of people on The Mall and outside the Palace.
An interesting number of Commonwealth flags around town, not just British/English but also Canadian, Australian, NZ.
'The' picture from the Royal Wedding has turned out to be even better than it should be thanks to the awesomeness that children can sometimes be :D
http://twitpic.com/4qznfy
Yay! She was my favourite.
Haha
via @Pete93Allen
Ha! This is epic! RT @robertwickens Couldn't get enough of the Royal wedding. Watched a bit between runs this morning. twitpic.com/4r1rnh
That's keen!
love that!
Cake! http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/04/29/article-1381944-0BD49D6A00000578-631_634x593.jpg
Woah!!!!
almost as awesome as the dress. that's so cool!
I would prefer the chocolate biscuit one. Mmm chocolate biscuit. http://www.flickr.com/photos/britishmonarchy/sets/72157626482581411/
Two cakes!
A micvities chocolate cake... I wish I was a royal, so I could ask for a micvities chocolate cake
Or just a giant chocolate digestive perhaps.
thats one part of their wedding I would like to steal for my own.
I think I would steal the trees. Trees, inside a church!!
Almost as good as Alice's Teletubbies in Vicar of Dibley's wedding
OOh, the beach party i was at is is on the bbc site http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-13237160
3rd picture.
I don't think that's the real Royals at the front of that picture you know
Just a hunch :)
hehe, the beach is empty, it must have been early, the real one turned up later ;)
OMG!
I loved the fact that they drove off in an aston martin. That was brilliant :)

Most informal thing I think the royal family have ever done probably. Love it.
No donuts
I hear they're leaving it in St James' Park ferme under constant supervision for when Charles picks it up in the morning
I felt something was missing from today's wedding, and that has now been corrected http://twitpic.com/4r40ad
Ahhh, better! I hope there was dad dancing too!
Somehow I can provide that too.
Oh wow.
Good to see even Charles will bring dad dancing to the royal wedding :D
Just up to the start of the ceremony - my God, the queen looks really old these days...
Hehe, she is quite old these days!
She also looked quite yellow!
I must just say I adore people live commenting things afterwards. This makes me so happy.
hehe thanks - TBH I didn't expect to be watching it but Mrs. Goat taped it and we just ended up doing so...
I guess I mean she looks like she's aged a lot. very slow moving & stuff.
Mrs. Goat is a royalist and so we got talking about the line of succession. The queen is 85 this year, and we were wondering how much longer she will last what with doing all the regal duties. Prince Charles is 63 this year, so when he becomes king he won't be doing the job for long either I reckon.
So we reckon William could become king in 20 years or so?
really liking all these glass topped cars - makes the cars look like they are open and it's easy to see those inside.
We rented a car with a glass roof once and we really liked having that feature too...
Oh and the Danish TV are getting so many names and details wrong!
Her mum lived to 101 so it could be a while yet!
It could be. But the queen mother wasn't performing all of the things the queen has to. Who knows?
She has to stay till next year otherwise Blue Peter will have wasted a lot of coverage on jubilee talk.
I think she'll be ok for that one...
Ceremony time :)
The Archbishop moved diagonally across the altar like his chess piece does!
They're at the vows... When they say "for richer, for poorer" - kind of given they ain't gonna be poor, eh?
My colleague made a great comment earlier. He said that after all the bad things that seem to have happened lately it was great to see an event that made loads of people happy and celebrate together.
Well we watched the "I do's" and Mrs. Goat is going to bed. I am skipping the hymns for God Save the Queen and then watch the parade...
There were a lot of hymns.
Not keen on the hymns unless I am actually there.
I appear to have skipped to the hymn where everyones walking out...
Did Amy say earlier that she thought will and cath sneaked in a kiss when they signed the register? :D
Well they snuck two in on the balcony so it could be!
Must admit, I'm not big on the royals but this whole event has been really nice.
Same here
LENS ENVY!!!
I love how will and cath get into the chariot with some dignity, but the two guards had to climb on the back!
ohh just seen the clip of how they left Buckingham Palace! love it!! :)
What happened?
That is my favourite bit, best informal formal wedding ending ever :)

I hope someone gave them some hair clippers, it's time for Wills to go to grade 1 or 2
Awesome.
Loving the parade. The cheering is incredible!
Never seen the inside courtyard of Buckingham palace before!
Just at the balcony bit now.
Oh, that Lancaster!
I always liked the Tornado planes too.
Did they have a forum on the redbutton?
