It’s day 6 at Wimbledon already! Hasn’t it been a great tournament already? There’s been some upsets for both the men and the women, which is always nice to see as long as it’s not one of your favourites.

The rain has been causing havoc in typical British fashion after staying away the last couple of years, so lots of matches today are half-finished matches from yesterday and some players such as poor Juan Martin Del Potro are about to play for the fifth day in a row. Hopefully we catch up to schedule and middle Sunday can give him and all the others a bit of a break! There are a few showers scheduled early today but with play not starting until 12pm we should see plenty of sun and plenty of matches completed.

The boys and girls matches kick off today but it’s fair to say that winning a junior Grand Slam is no guarantee of future success. The last junior girl who then went on to win the senior title was Amelie Mauresmo who won in 1996 and then ten years later in 2006. On the men’s side it was good old Roger Federer who was junior champ in 1998 and of course he has been senior champ six times since then. Since their victories there have been some junior champions who have become big names on the senior tour and just as many that I’ve literally never heard of. Did you know Nicolas Mahut was junior champ in 2000? He hasn’t quite reached the career heights of the winner from two years before him, but of course his name is definitely in the Wimbledon history books.

Today I can go as far as saying the Wimbledon schedule actually makes sense which is rare! All the matches on Centre Court are definitely worthy of being there. Here is your show court line up for today:
