Testing was a bit underwhelming yesterday with a few showers causing problems for the teams. Ferrari decided not to venture out at all so we can all start making fun about the red cars hating the wet weather again.

  • Elsewhere, it's emerged that Mallya had input in the decision for Mercedes to supply the Team Formerly Known as Honda with engines. I can't imagine he would have much say in the final decision, but he might have been able to throw his weight around a bit. What do we think?
  • Pedalo has spoken out about the lack of in-season testing, suggesting that if a third driver is required in the middle of race weekend, he's going to be completely out of practice. Does this present an inherent safety risk, or is there anything teams can do to make it work?
  • Despite running last for two days in a row, Piquet is adamant that Renault will be fighting at the top end of the grid. He also reckons the car has improved enormously since it's first test. And yet they're still last?

That'll do for now. I'm not sure what the forecast is for today, but we should see some more action in Jerez. Until then, I'll see you in the comments.
