It's the 3rd of December as the countdown to Christmas continues. Another countdown to note: It's 100 days until the season starting Bahrain Grand Prix. On a sad note, I'd like to highlight the 25th anniversary of the Bhopal disaster if for no other reason than a lot of people seem to have never heard of it or forgotten about it despite having killed thousands and still effecting many lives 25 years on. A moving collection of pictures at Boston.com's Big Picture tells the story.

  • In F1, it's the final day of Formula 1 action for 2009 as the teams complete their Young Driver's test. However, one place the teams don't look like heading any time soon is France as yesterday plans for the proposed Flins-Mureaux circuit were officially confined to the scrap-heap. Throwing in the matter of Christian Horner bringing up the subject of engine parity and it'll be interesting to see exactly what Thursday Thoughts will be upfor discussion later today.
  • Talking of Thursday Thoughts, Joe Saward yesterday instigated something of a Wednesday Musings as he pondered the state of Formula 1 at a time that an air of doom and gloom lingers around the sport in the wake of economic and political crises. Half-full or half-empty he asks? I've always been of a mind that the glass was over-designed for the job in hand but Joe raises some good points as always and suggests F1 is doing fine with some room for improvement.
  • And finally, spare a thought for the Italian policemen who crashed the force's prized Lamborghini Gallardo.

That'll do for now. You can keep up with Jackie and myself over at PitlaneFanatic where our advent calendar review of the year might just find a buyer for Honda at some point today (I won't give away who buys them just yet). That just leaves one final thing, and I've always wanted to say this... see you in the comments.
