We've had some quite spectacular daily threads this week, and I'm starting to think mine are a bit of a letdown come the weekend! Nevertheless, I will plough ahead. We're still in the middle of crazy sporting overload, and I have one more to throw into the mix: Superleague! If you can't cope with the GP and the football, why not compromise with a mixture of both? I'm not selling this very well, am I? Onto the bullet points:

  • If you're a fan of the cartoons from Bruno Mantovani, it looks like his art is making a comeback. And what better way to make your triumphant return than with a cartoon of... Nelson Piquet. Oh. Well never mind, it's still a good picture!
  • F1 Punter has some thoughts on the favourites to take pole position later today. You'd put your money on Red Bull, wouldn't you? They've taken every pole position bar one. Presumably your qualifying position is even more important than normal at Valencia, as the track is so long and has so many corners that field spread is likely and overtaking less so.
  • Everybody loves Lotus. Or do they? Joe has written about the fact that the team are celebrating quite the milestone this weekend - their 500th Grand Prix. But should they be? Are they the same team? Joe believes the celebrations are justified, and makes his arguments well. What do you think? Head on over and share your thoughts.
  • Finally, it comes to something when Bridgestone themselves are warning us that the race this weekend is going to be a bore-fest. I mean, they don't use those exact words, but near enough. They haven't seen the kind of tyre degradation they were expecting or wanted. Considering the amount of complaints I've seen about graining, I wonder exactly what it takes to spice up a race!

That should do it for now. Don't forget that it is the last episode of this series of Doctor Who so don't miss it! It's scheduled for 6:05pm GMT+1 (which is a stupid time, by the way), but will no doubt be available on the iPlayer moments after it ends. Try and avoid spoilers in the comments in case some have not yet seen it though. We'll talk when we're all on the same page! And thus, I will see you in the comments.
