The action gets underway in Bahrain today, and we're looking at a dry race, at least. The prospect of a sandstorm seems to increase the more we talk about it, so we'll see what happens. Here are some of the things we're discussing at the moment (but they'll soon be outdated by FP1 and 2):
- The chances of a race at Donington Park are looking less and less as their debts seem to increase. At the moment, they've got £2.5 million hanging over their heads owed in rent to Wheatcroft & Sons. The building isn't even completed and they're already facing legal proceedings.
- Prodrive have added their name to the "we want to join the F1 party" list. Chances are this is just because the topic is going around at the moment, but Richards did suggest that he would enter F1 when the time is right - is that time 2010?
- Apparently, Mosley has written to the teams to get their opinion on the £30 million budget cap. He wanted them to submit figures that they thought might be more appropriate with a deadline of yesterday, so I wonder if we will here what they think.
That's all for now, although do check out Chris' great post about Codemasters upcoming F1 game. There'll be plenty more to come today in terms of blogs, podcasts and discussions, so stay tuned, and I'll see you in the comments.
