It is ex-F1 driver birthday central today, with Bertrand Gachot celebrating his 47th birthday today. He seems to have raced for every team that has ever appeared in the Forgotten F1 Teams series, including but not limited to Onyx, Jordan, Coloni and Pacific. It also appears that Michele Alboreto was born on this day. The Italian raced for Ferrari and Tyrrell in the 80s, and died in 2001. Anyway, on to more current things:

  • It was a busy day on the site yesterday, as Steven was inspired by a BBC documentary and wrote up some more fascinating facts about Jim Clark. The numbers really are incredible, the post is definitely worth a read and don't forget to rate it as well!
  • The edited version of the 2009 Sidepoddie Awards emerged yesterday. If you missed the live show, we of course recommend checking that out first, but if you only have thirty minutes to spare, you can digest all the awards we handed out in the audio version of the show.
  • Meanwhile, in F1 news, Alonso has been bigging up his chances for the 2010 season, by saying he is in the best form of his life. I'm not sure how you can tell things like that after a pretty poor year out on track and it being the middle of the off-season. However, it is good to hear. Confidence is half the battle.

That's all for now. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm counting the hours until the holiday begins, but while I do, I'll see you in the comments.
