Good morning ladies and gents! How are you today? How are you after a weekend without Formula 1? Well, we should practice ourselves, because there’re only five races left! But let’s not pull ourselves down and look too far into the future, let’s focus on the present. The very recent past wasn’t that kind with me (in terms of footy), so I really force myself to focus on the present.

And before I show you some shocking snaps there’s something far more important than Leo Massi’s injury … ups! I didn’t want to reveal this so early. Oh well, since I did it … Yes, Messi injured himself in a match against Atletico Madrid ( which Barca won 1:2) and is going to be out of the game for five weeks. And here’s the shocking photo I announced earlier. Nothing for the faint-hearted ... Well, Leo, you’re not Cristiano Ronaldo (which means that we like you), so we wish you a good and fast recovery!

Since were in Spain ... Real Madrid won against Real Sociedad as well, but it’s Valencia which is on the top of the league standings with 9 points, 2 more than Sevilla and Real Madrid. Barcelona is only sixth.

But let’s move on to the really important news: we lost 3:2 against our greatest enemies Manchester United. Even worse: at Old Trafford. And YES, we didn’t play well, but YES, in terms of celebration it is OUR captain, who knows how to do it.

In the Bundesliga there’s been loads of derbies and many goals have been scored, but who cares about Bundesliga when we play Manchester? Exactly!

In the last week there wasn’t really much going on in the Formula 1, although there’s been some news:

  • Esteban Gutierrez is to be BMW Sauber’s test and reserve driver for the 2011 season
  • Jerome D'Ambrosio will drive the Friday practice sessions for Virgin Racing
  • There’s also been an interesting article about how Brawn GP became the best investment ever in Ross Brawn’s life. It is in German, though, but I couldn’t find an English version.
  • I dunno if you know that Jenson Button became the face of Head & Shoulders. Maybe he’ll start to wear his hair like this again? I don’t know what Jessica would have said if he really did ...
  • And last but not least: Jaime went pink. I really hope he’ll stay in the F1, we need cool lads without great beards, and better taste for sunglasses like him.

In the weekend there’s been some (none F1)racing:

  • In the DTM, Paul di Resta won in Oschersleben after gaining his second pole position in a row. I do like Paul, I like his talks with Crofty, and he’s a really nice guy too. I can remember a very interesting article in GP+ No.65 about Paul called “A Scotsman on the make”. Highly recommended!
  • Moto GP I always is a nice substitute to F1, and this week Dani Pedrosa finished second behind Niky Hayden and Jorge Lorenzo finishing fourth.
  • In NASCAR, Clint Bowyer earned his third Cup Series victory in his 172nd start. He’s second now behind Denny Hamlin.

For those who’re looking for either something good to read, or for a good laugh (or both): have a look at Stuart Taylor's tremendous piece about our “Fantastic Five” championship contenders. I’m sure you’re already did it once or twice, but have another glance. It’s more than worth it! I KNOW you love this piece!

And finally … (sorry, folks), I have to mention this article about footy. Christine, I know you’re going to like it, and the others will learn Diego Forlan from a different side.

So. Now I’m going to let you go to work, university, grocery, gym, bath or … wherever you’re about to go. Have a great Tuesday, and I see you in the comments!

P.S. Did you know there are only 100 days remaining until the end of the year? Well, now you know it!

Ok. I’m gone … !
